I would like to try this, what did you plug the hole with? Sorry to hear about your batteries venting, at least you got them out or it could have been much worse!

Robert

I just used what I had on hand... a nylon machine screw... 4-40 X 3/8" and wrapped the threads with a few turns of teflon tape. I just had to make sure there was clearance between the coil and top of the nylon... No worries, it worked great.

I had an IMR 18650 go off in my pocket last week. I forgot and put 3 coins in that pocket. One of the quarters got onto the top and shorted to the side. It was a bit scroungy and some of the plastic wrapper was missing. Just enough to make the connection.
Didn't take me long to find it. whoo hoo. But it and my leg are just fine now, it took a re-charge with no problem.

It's not ethical or wise for a doctor to self-diagnose...

Speaking of plugging up holes, when I was building my 2nd SCG3 I put some heat shrink tubing over the positive CE2 connection tube and when I went to draw on it, the upper chamber wanted to fill with juice. Oops. But if a guy wanted to he could use that method to increase the wicking through the SS by partially blocking the airflow. I think that is Dan's latest idea with the NextGenScubaGen.

Probably half of normal airflow would assist the wicking process. Additionally plugging the upper opening under the coil with an adjustable valve of some sort would achieve the same effect or blocking the lower air passage and using a hole in the upper lexan one could put a finger over it and throttle the juice.

Now for the bad news, after attempting to re-design the top cover with an extension for the XL 5ml tank, I simply do not have enough spacial diameter area to allow for enough SS material while allowing an airflow passage for the adapter. The internal tank prohibits the ability to add the adapter and maintain enough material to thread the adapter to the top cover while allowing air flow.
So it looks like we are going with two top covers.

could you go with the orignal internal dimensions or perhaps a lil bigger then fit it to a 3/4" outside to get the extra little clearance? or perhaps several groves cut through the threads longways would leave a gap... when put together the groves would make the air passages... but then i'm sure you already thought about that :)

Perhaps the .875" OD would allow for the threading.

Yep though of that, but would increase the price more than the extra cover.

It would, but I dont want to go larger than 3/4.

You know Dan, I think I was the one pulling for more liquid, increasing the diameter increased the tank size plenty, I was just thinking either or, since you have decided on bigger diameter, why not drop the longer tank and just have one?

I use about 5ml a day, so I would like somthing that holds that much at least. And a shorter tank appeals to another crowd as does the t-tank, soooo just trying to look at all bases. Besides I like options :)

I would think that would be something anyone can pick up if they choose. Me personally, I like the poly or SS. I use the syringe in my Gtank more often than the SS tank....but I just want to see how the wicks are working with my juice. Once I get a good feel of how well the wick is working....I'll go back to the SS just for the looks.

On another note....just tried the "J" wick with my Scubagen.....actually working better than the normal "U" wick did. Same wick, just cut one of the legs off. No wicking problems...been chain vaping 60 VG with no problems. :)
