Ok the reason I designed it so it would not pull the liquid back in to the main bottle is because of contanination (ie burnt old juice) If you happen to run it dry and squeeze where does the nasty juice go? this way if you over fill you can remove the drip tip and dump the excess. And if you run into a situation where the juice is burnt contaminated you can remove the top and do a quick rinse. I do think it is possible to add a SS wick in but I would also add some other wick at the base to help keep it wet.
Thoughts?
Dan

Until I bought a ProVari and completed the ScubaGen v3 build I used a bottom fed 510 box mod for over a year and never had an issue with contaminated juice flowing back into the bottle. I use a 3ml bottle with SS tubing from the bottom of the bottle to just inside the atty. The tubing I bought fits very snug through the squeeze tip and up through a whole drilled in the plastic cap.

Do different setups have an issue with backwash? My main issue was flooding and having the juice leak out the bottom of the atty and down the box.

poland, and the brassy lands of google
I preferred to have the tube end just above the the top of the positive inside the battery connector so it would suck the excess back into the bottle and not have to worry about flooding and leaking. I didn't care about contamination, but it is all personal preference.

Dan for the SS in the BFG what if the base had a groove or moat? In the middle of the moat and slightly offset of the two post a shallow counter sunk hole drilled with insert slightly inset to hold the wick which points up at an angle over the feeder tube. Excess juice would travel to the moat/groove and be re delivered to the wick.

Good Idea, but have you seen how small the surface area is :) A channel groove (or moat) is not really doable, I have already thought of pointing a SS wick at a 60 degree angle and either 1) wrap the base with silica for juice absorbsion, or 2) making SS dounuts aroung the base. The problem with the second is that the SS standoff post will conduct electricity when the SS dounuts are wrapped aroung it. So I am leaning toward either silica or ceramic sleeve material. Both will hold the juice and wick it to the SS wick.

How'd I do that? I just said what you want you get and the rest of us are along for the ride and get the same goodies as a result of you achieving your wants and desires. I don't think that's a bad thing at all. You're a go getter and I'm all for it because I'm the guy right behind you prodding you on because I want the new doodads too.

Dan I know whatever you come up with will work great:). Hoping to see the BFG in a co-op also. I understand the surface issue now looking at the pictures again. Another idea that might help with or without material would be an outer lip edge to hold the material and/or juice from getting out when you unscrew the top.
Anyways, thanks again for your time and your hard work!

Hey this works great as a drippers dream too!
I put it on an EGO with the G-tank astetic ring, and it does not look too bad. Actually works great on an EGO. I use 10 drops and it is off and running, notice the o-ring I put in to help stop any seepage.
