I've seen it mentioned a couple times and was wondering when switching to the ScubaGen v3 how many have reduced their nic level? To/from? I need to make up some new juice and contemplating how far to reduce the potency because 18mg is becoming a bit much with this beast :)

Also, has Dan happen to mention a shipping address and favorite poison?

Personally, I cut mine down to 12mg now. If the coil is not hot enough or two wet the TH does go up. Im good with 12mg. I did keep some mixed up at 16-18mg vape with morning coffee.

There's return addresses on packages FROM Dan ;)

Thx I'll keep an eye out for it so I can send a liquid tip after this co-op. PayPal donation to go towards R&D supplies is one thing, but nothing says thank you like a bottle of your favorite booze lol.

@Dan - SOTB juice sounds interesting, haven't tried that one. Is the Jamaican Rum a LorAnn flavor?

It is lorann, flavourart, and TPA flavors.

Dan,
Did you ever do a comparison between the G-Tank-US and the SGV3 or did I miss it?

I am mainly interested in how much cooler the vape is as it has to travel up the sides of the tank. I think the wife would like the cooler vape but not sure about myself.

Jimho, Glad you took the time and effort to purchase the parts for these kits.

The O-rings work way better than the original ones I had. I can actually take the tube off the bottom to clean the thing out now. The original O-rings went together fine but there was absolutely no way to take the tank apart without ruining the Poly after it had set for a couple of days.

The terminals also work better. I was doing fine with the originals but these work even smoother. I left the slightly too large o-ring on the cap so that it doesn't pop off at all without some force. This keeps it on secure when I pull the top section off to adjust things or fill.

Loving my PK'-ish SGV3, I will have to get a couple more converted this weekend.

Thanks PK for the time you put in on this setup.

All packed and ready to go. Just waiting on guidance to see if it should be a coop or classified ad... Will be $3.75 a set with all you need to make pkz's spring pin setup + 2 sets of o-rings.

You're welcome...

I have to give it up for jimho though, for putting the parts together for everyone.

The top cap stays put on the poly tubing just fine with #015 O-rings. You can take the top cap off and on without worring about it popping off the tubing, no problem.

joined about a year ago in search of how an atty was made in an attempt to come up with a device which delivered more nic. I didn't realize there was a modders forum here. duh. would have saved some time. Anyhoo, I came up with a device very similar to the g tank and have been vaping it almost exclusively for most of a year. It is very similar to your and ostromo's device with the exception of having the battery housed in the atty since I didn't realize that battery connectors could be bought. it is all aluminum made on my tiny desktop lathe with screw on caps both top and bottom, hand tapped. the battery connects directly to the atty and + flows through it, the atty is insulated from the housing by a rubber sleeve. ground is picked up in the combustion chamber from the side of the case. I use an ego tank for the the tank and stainless for the wick but the gruntwork of vaporizing is done by ceramic sleeving. used leftover nichrome wire from my vacuum form machine project, not sure what size it is. I stole the wick idea from my model train building friend who uses it for smoke. I didn't know 400 mesh existed until I saw you guys using it and admittedly it works way better but nearly any mesh will work fine for this type atty since it is suction/gravity fed. I have also had some success with using a tube for a wick with a hole in the side near the bottom to saturate wicking material. i stole the idea for ceramic sleeving from this forum and prior to that was using my wife's absorbent facial wipes twirled around the wick. you would be surprised how long they last. I was getting nearly a month out of them before it needed changing but the ceramic is the shiznit. the secret to no leak is indeed having the bottom of the tank sealed against the floor. I use one of the silicone doughnuts from a ce2. has leaked nary a drop in a year. I really enjoy watching the way your mind works and i applaud your tireless efforts to provide folks here with a superior vaping experience. this is my first real post but I am hooked. you are my kind of people

Nice and small tjones, what size battery are you using? And welcome to the modding section, at long last.

thanks. it uses an imr high drain 14500. lasts through about 2 ml's of juice which is what the t tank holds. I shoot for the smaller mods since they fit into my pocket easier. I made my first with the 18500 battery and i noticed that I was attracting undue attention from the ladies with the huge bulge in the front of my pants. Didn't want to see the look of disappointment on their faces when it came time for the vetting process.:2cool: here are a couple pics of top feeder, gravity fed ecigs I made which were smaller and used the 10440 bat. they are handy and I sometimes use them when stealth are required (I work in a hospital...shhhhh) but they just don't really last long enough and I end up replacing the battery every couple hours. there is a limit to how many times these can be recharged and it just didn't seem worth it to me. the first I made out of stainless tubing and the second I made out of a three dollar flashlight from wally world. It actually looks better than anything else I have made which is is a testament to my sad little lathe skills, but the threads are weak and probably wouldn't hold up. I bought the lathe of craigslist for 150.00 and I was shocked at how steep the learning curve was. I weld and sculpt and have handled about every kind of machine out there but this thing nearly made me start drinking. I just wanted to clarify something. I reread my post and it kind of seems like I am trying to take credit for the design. I am not. Dan/ostromo's design is actually better than mine although mine is simpler and with less parts. I had to make it simpler because I am not a lathe magician like dan. I chimed in to assure people who were thinking about joining the coop that the design is awesome and will suit their needs. I think the mesh I was using is like 250 or so. again, I use the ceramic sleeving and never had sucess with carbonizing the wick. too much fiddling with shorts and too little smoking time. I like to set it and forget it. I am using 400 mesh now and no longer have to swipe some from my nerdy model train pal. My wife's absorbent facial wipes are mysteriously lasting her long as well. Tjones2 welcome to the modding thread.
I have not read yet of anyone else using a ceramic sleeve over the mesh. Maybe start another thread just on that.

Inquiring mind wants to know;
Where you got the sleeve, or did you make it?.
How big it is?
How thick is it?

the one i used is found here:
Nextel Braided Ceramic Very High Temperature Sleeving
you can use whichever size you wish and it is sized by inside diameter. it is woven so you can't cut down it lengthwise or it will fall apart but if you are careful with it then it wont unravel when you cut it to fit by length. you can use it for a sleeve for the stainless mesh so it won't short or use it by itself for a wick. It will withstand nearly the temp. to melt steel so I don't think our puny nichrome will ever hurt it. I have had one on my ecig now for about two months and it is completely undamaged. I wouldn't be surprised if lasted for many more months. there is no taste from the ceramic at all. I tried the silica wicks first and they tasted just like the wicking from a ce'2. :p don't hesitate to try the absorbent paper if you don't want to spring for the sleeving. as long as you don't dry burn it then it will last a month or so and you can buy a lifetime supply for a couple dollars. I think the stainless that is carbonized with a lighter tastes like crap and every little short gives a burnt/strong flavor that is wretched. just my opinion though, I am often wrong.
I am working on another ceramic wick that is rigid an is made by mixing ceramic material with a few other ingredients and fired with a torch to make a rigid wick that is porous like a sponge. solves the shorting problem and can be rinsed and reused. I stumbled onto the formula it accidentally while making a coral reef for a museum in colorado. I tossed a failed casting into the corner and noticed it wicked a puddle of water up almost instantly.

Ok about the BFG, asdaq was correct. It stands for Bottom Feed Genny or genisis. This is a replacable coil atomizer designed for bottom fed PVs. Since it does not require a tank it is quite small. It will interesting to see how it performs on a REO.
Here are some pics:
View attachment 58137View attachment 58138View attachment 58139View attachment 58140

And a vid:
I do not own a bottom feeder PV, so I had to drip instead, the etra wick hangs down and soaks up what hits the coil and runs down. The center tube prevents liquid from going back into the juice resivor. We will see how it works when my tester reports back. I think this is the first of its kind. Ok on to the show!

Ok vid in the next post... messing with the pics, everything is overlapped.

Dan

YAY!!! Can't wait to get one or ten of these. LOL! These are going to be awesome to use with my REOs and GRIPS!!! Big, huge thanks Dan!!! You're the bestest!!! :)
