About a year's supply if you make your wicks with a 40mm x 12mm size and you use one wick a week. Off course it can last much longer once you get into the hang of things. I guess a 400mm x 400mm could last a few years....

Well if it is 6x6 and you cut the wicks out like so:
View attachment 60176
4.5 inches long x 5/8" wide
you would have 11 wicks.
Dan

Added, opps I was thinking scubagenv3, you did not specify the unit you were asking about :)
For the G-tank-US it will produce 50 wicks, 10 15mm x 152mm strips then cut into 50 30mm x 15mm pieces.
Dan

G-tank-US.. I guess I'm all set then. I was able to spend about 30 bucks or a bit less on ebay for both mesh and kanthal. I'll be studying up on how it all works while I wait. I'm already prepping my husband on how to oxidize the wick and how it all works, lol. I'll have to remember to specify what I'm talking about from now on. I wish I had the other versions but I'm late to the game on rebuildables. Thanks!

Dan the man! Does it have to be that long - 4.5"?

I guess it also depend on the type of tank you're using...???

LOL it all depends on the unit your making the wick for, the scubagenv3 uses a long U shaped wick, 4-4.5" long. The G-Tank-US uses a 30mm x 15mm wick.

Has anyone noticed certain juices they use appear to get contaminated and not others? I decided to try 2/3 LorAnn Naturals and 1/3 regular LorAnn Pomegranate in my latest batch and the juice inside the tank is getting darker and darker. I'm wondering if maybe this is just the Naturals not wicking and becoming more concentrated in the tank or if for some reason the Naturals is causing some sort of contamination that the 100% regular LorAnn was not causing before?

Thank you for the info Dan... I was starting to think that it would only make about 5 wicks and that it might only last a week each and that the highest cost of a re-buildable atty was going to be the wicking material, well, especially if it costs so much for shipping it from over seas in order to get the two-fer offer! A years worth is a much better deal!

Carbon deposits are leaking back into your tank for some reason.....

The liquid will only change colour when there is a "backflow" of burnt juice.

Gravity seems to be a leading cause of liquid flowing down hill. :2c:
So that's they wont let us jump without parachutes...gravity. It's all coming together now. Thanks Zen :p

But seriously, does this happen with all SGv3s? I haven't seen any discoloration until I added natural flavorings.

It's a pretty common issue with Genisis mods. It usually means that there is not enough heat at the coil (I know this seems backwards, but trust me on this one) :)

Try lowering your resistance at the coil or increasing voltage, of course don't over do it either or it will brun the juice up to bad and be harsh and burnt tasting (without the carbon build up though). I am not 100% sure why this is the case, but I have experimented with this many dozens of times and find that if there is not enough heat on the coil that the liquids will actually form a burnt crust a whole lot faster. I find myself having to pulse the button to keep the heat low enough to vape nicely and still keep the coil clean for weeks at a time depeding on the voltage. I typically run 1.0 - 1.3 ohms at 3.7V and this produces enough heat to keep the wick and coil clean for extended ammounts of time. If I bring up the resistance to around 2 ohms, it will build gunk very fast and within a few days be gunked up enough that the flavor of the vape is changed and the liquids turn dark from the residues on the wick and coil.

Wow... I just assumed it was gravity... go figure...

LOL, gravity certainly pulls it down, but if you get the heat just right, it flashes to vapor fast enough to not leave alot of residue. It is a balancing act for sure but it's easy to achieve with a little practice and some patience. Clearer juice tanks await :)

SS Mesh is too hard to handle, meaning that SS Mesh is a PITA to cut and package. The more you handle the SS Mesh the more frayed, curled and bent up it becomes. I personally would not want to purchase the SS Mesh in a Co-Op, unless someone handled it with enough care to not fray, bend or curl it and it was packaged properly. Too much work if you ask me.

:2c:

You got that right. Just got done doing that with a couple people. - Never again

I ran everything under water and cut a loop out of the coil bringing it to 1.7 ohm. Turned up the voltage to 4.1 and so far so good. Vapor production/taste has returned and no discoloration after about a half tank since the cleaning.

I think what you mean to say is... you have discovered the formula for anti-gravity :D

No, lol, it's physics. If you get the juice hot enough, fast enough, you flash it to vapor instead of cook it to vapor so with the right balance, you can get nice smooth hits and greatly reduced carbon production.

Alright, alright, you got me....it's really sorcery, not physics. I just didn't want to let everyone know it was magic. :)

I just got my v3 today. It was used . Made my coil and got a little vapor then a e1 (short) error on my Provari. I thought the positive leg was not installed correctly so I took it out. Now I have the red wire connected to nothing. For kicks I fired up my Provari and still get E1 error. Any Ideas??... Help
