this is a good idea, puttin my thinking cap on ,on this set-up. one thing though, the tube in the bottle seems it has to be a hollow stainless tube, so it can carry fluid to the mesh at the top,, going to try this out,,

Santo - Actually I tested a small glass vial with a hole drilled in it and a Stainless steel mesh screen rolled into a wick (like Genesis). I applied a power source to it and it wicked and burned just fine. My problem is not having a good workspace in order to complete the project.

The whole idea behind my design was to NOT run the power leads up through the tank like everyone else does. That way it can be much shorter and compact. My original idea was to fit all of this into a 2 x AA box.

Anybody is welcome to the idea, but if you build a sellable version, then MAKE ONE FOR ME... heh heh.

When the coil fires inside that box it will splatter unburnt juice all over the place. There has to be a way of compartmentalizing the entire wick. On the Scubagens the entire upper compartment where the wick is accumulates a tremendous amount of moisture from the coil firing.

The silver tube on top was to get a slit up one side to accommodate the kanthal wires, and slides down over the wick. That was the part I hadn't gotten around to finishing.

Yea it will. Just use a standard Scuba gen v3 and run the wires out the side of the coil chamber (it would double as the air hole) instead of down through the center tube.

I modified one of my SGV3's making it a shorty following the Idea that someone else posted a ways back.

I cut out a section of the center tube and put them back together with a roll pin and some epoxy.

A couple of benefits
1] less juice means you can get through a tank before burnt condensate starts to alter the taste of the liquid in the tank.

2] more comfortable to hold

3] a little more aesthetically pleasing

4] I put excess epoxy causing a bulged ring at the joint to replace the O ring I was using to keep the wick off of the center post.

Here are the tips I use a piece of to seal my center tube.

CE-2 rubber tip for cartomizers

They don't have many left but you may be able to find them else where.
I just cut out a small section of the narrowest part and it squeezes into the center tube sealing it perfectly to keep condensate and excess juice away from the connector while allowing the positive wire up through.
