Really. I have one wrapped at 2.8 ohms with 400 mesh and it takes the high voltages to make it perform. I was going to wrap it lower but hadn't gotten around to it.

Holy scubagens PK, and mjmetz thought I was a madman...
With 36mg nic and dropping to 1.5ohm @ 4.5 v on a provari...call the hospital now, someone's coming in tonight.
Let's add in that the juice is an 80/20 pg/vg mix made using peppermint oil getting vaped through #325 mesh, that would be like sticking 3 cohibas in your mouth at once and taking a deep breath.

Defnitely bring it down some. At 1.5-2.0 ohms it is a steam machine at 4v. Your batteries will thank you

You mean break it in? Naw, just go less wraps. But I don't really understand your juice.... No VG at all?
I use the higher nic to keep me from chain vaping.
I don't have to hit my PV too much with the 36mg,
I like it that way.
I hit it a few times every 15 ~ 30 minutes. some times longer.

That is what I go for too, this way my PV does not need to be an extension of my hand I like a slightly more mellow feel to the vape though which is why use the lower nic and added vg.

I vaped straight PG in the scubagen...
to see if my 36mg high nic juice was causing the TH issue.
I could have added some VG to it, i guess.

well , got mine made earlyer, had some problems with neg, post. put in 1/8x1/8 pospost piece, then put in a carto tube to hold kanthal inplace, put end in tube hole then slid a needle in to hold it snugg.
three wraps,1.8 ohm, quentched it first.
fires up good, light vapor, TH high, flavor low, vapor low

Did you get your coil glowing all the way before filling it ? Could be shorting out on the mesh.
Santo sounds like you have a short, im vaping at 6 volts on my sb with 4 coils and the amount of vapor and throat hit is awesome. Check to see whether its shorting on the mesh. Currently there is more vapor then a conventional ciggy.

one DSU at 2.4 ohms on my full range testbed rockin 6-8v depending on flavor and nic level..I only vape 100? or 90% PG......I usually let it drain a bit into the bottom to be able to tilt it and add to the wetting of the wick otherwise it tastes burnt but oh man what TH...only way I could get it hot enough...but then again I smokes Camel Wides like A freight train...
gonna try Dans dual wick scubagen setup next...maybe that will be Vaping Nirvana for me...

i take the top off, fire it, and lots of sizzleing and lots of vape, the inside top piece is covered with fired-up eliquid.

Are you boiling you mesh like Raidy said for at least 5 minutes.
Just checking to see if this is a reason.
I didn't boil my last wick.
However, I did boil the previous one and it didn't seem to matter.
I think when you quench it.
It is pretty much clean after that.

Probably Lennox Tinning Flux... excellent stuff! Sadly, got mine cleaned and ready to work on it, but school's back on and I'm slammed. Kids show up next week so I'm already making tests! Maybe Sunday I can work on it... missing my shop already!
