If you have a bit of Hydrochloric Acid about, it will strip the Zinc of the nuts and bolts, you have to be carefull of course, but when you put the bits in the acid it will bubble when the bubbling stops the Zinc will be gone, and if you dont use too much Acid you will have flux for soldering, ( do it at your own peril) Flux no good for electronics :vapor:

if you cut to 3/4, at least you will have enough for two wicks,
as for me i had a couple that i made that had kinks in them and joose didnt flow..
good luck
ok i'm ready to make my wick but now i see conflicting data. i only have a little mesh right now so i dont want to waste any. is it better to use 3/4" with it hollow in the middle or go with the 1 1/2" and roll it tight? does one way vape any better?

Are you using soldering flux? Flux helps a lot, cleans the surface of impurities

Also, are you heating the actual connector itself or just the wire/solder?

Yes, heated and fluxed. That is a pretty big surface area and I suspect I was not getting it hot enough, but I am worried about melting the insulator. I saw that the lip of the ce2 connecter was contacting solidly, so its the interior that has an angle on the ridging that was causing the real trouble.

I opted to go with a bit of super glue gel all the away around the ridged area instead. Its in place and holding and conductivity meters fine. Torch heat will pull it out later if I need to change it.

I got the polycarb tube on, it took a multi tool and a 10lb weight but I got it on. I won't be able to get it off though without cutting it off with a dremel. Now I'm having problems with the wick. All in all, this mod is seriously beginning to damage my calm. This is not what I was hoping for, I knew this mod wasn't going to a breeze but it's proving to be far more of a pita than I was expecting.

if it helps anybody i used the connector from smoketech dual coil. fits in nice and tight but can still be worked back out if needed although after half a dozen times taking it back out its not as tight as it was but still more than enough i wont be worried about it coming out accidentally...

Just a thought:
If some are having trouble with the O rings being too tight and some are not, then it is perhaps some machining tolerances. So if yours is too tight, Just take a dremel with a cut off wheel and make the groove a little bit deeper. After the O ring is back on it won't show. Just stop and test fit it often. You can take the metal off but you can't put it back. be gentle. put some duct tape around where you don't want to scratch the finish.

I simply chose a slightly thinner O-ring...problem solved...no leaks and easy removal/insertion of the tubing...

I would chamfer out the tube a bit more before I did the metal Gummy, just a thought but I think it would be much easier.

I'm still having bad flavor and I just don't get it. Wick is getting plenty of liquid, coils is glowing fully and my flavor is still way to harsh and not as much vapor as I should be getting, just having trouble with this mesh and I' doing everything perfect and the Mod is running exactly like it should, may move on to the XC-116 wick instead of the mesh I have it in my iAtty and it runs great, even use mesh in the iAtty and that works great but cant get the flavor and vapor from my Scuba tank

Is your mesh the 400?

Yeah, I did the same thing...

I switched to a #15 o-ring in lieu of the #16 o-ring for the main body.

It works great, I have no leaks and if fits nicely.

I know I have said this once before....but those of you that are having the harsh TH and no flavor/vapor......CHECK YOUR AIRFLOW!

If the wick is right, the coil is right....and you are at your wits end....I assure you there is something wrong with the airflow. If need be..drill two very small holes (I use the smallest drill bit in the dremel set...1/32 or .08mm) in the top cap tube directly at the coil and 180 degrees across from each other.

I am starting to think that during the soldering process of the wire, that the tube is being clogged enough to restrict airflow enough to affect the vapor production. Anyone having this issue, take my advice and give it a try....I'm almost positive you will get better results.

Is your mesh the 400?

Yup SS 400 Mesh, coil glowing all the way and a very harsh vape ! just can not get this dam thing to work for me. I'm going to make 1 more wick right now, gonna do 4 wraps and try it again, day 4 for me and it's driving me freaking nuts !

I just rebuilt another wick and wrap, it's perfect and I mean perfect, how long should it take to break in ?

Has anyone done a wrap with the XC-116 Wick material yet ? I did one but it didn't taste right so I want to do another on my 2nd tank, let me know please ?
