Cappy,
Great idea, the cup helps to force the air at the coil in a more concentrated pattern. Thanks for the shout out and I glad you are happy with your SG3.

Ok DSU v6 is under way :)
Here is a couple pics, one of the new 48" lathe and the first piece of DSU6, notice the knurling :) YAY!!

Very nice Dan. I have access to that exact same lathe, circa 1952. The manual is downloadable if you need it (Logan lathe). I tinkered briefly with threading and must say that inside threading is challenging. Yours looks great.

Cool got a URL for the manual? I have been looking with no luck.
Did a leak test on the current parts and it passed with flying colors :)

Thanks,

I will have to look at the one at work again to see what info I downloaded. EDIT: I downloaded the gear change info below. I will tell you that if you open up the gear cover and clean the grease off you will most likely find a stamped metal chart for the threading gear change info. Do NOT remove this chart like I did because you can download that same info online. You can go to Logan Lathe's site and order the original manual there.

I done some 32 tpi threading with pretty good results. :2cool:

On a side note....Have you had any problems with ....I used a piece of delrin in the fill hole to keep it from leaking when on it's side. With it in the upright position in the truck after the inside of the truck heated up it leaked all over the place. I think the juice heated up and increased the pressure in the tank and it wicked up and flooded until it ran out of the batt connector. Had this problem? It's 104 in TX.
