Yes ... they are horrid and no I can't change out the heads.

Okay so I just put the drip tip right on the atomizer cone then? I wish I had an atty with me so I could take a pic and post to show you.

On second thought, your kit may not have the changeable atomizer heads like in the picture on the right.
You would need just the drip tips mentioned before if that's the case.

Just trying to help get rid of those cartridges, they were terrible and inconsistent IMO.:p

KarenB, the tankomizer type atomizer you have are really not designed for dripping, if you can get the spike off of the atomizer I see no reason why it would'nt work well, but if you can't I don't think the results will be very good, the juice just can't get to the coil like it needs to. If you can get the spike off then you can do a proper cleaning also ( dry burn). I don't know of any way to clean the Tanko's without taking the spike off, and the problem is they are not made to be taken apart, just tossed when they no longer work. How have you been cleaning previously? Have you only had one of the tankomizer atty's or are you just tossing them when they stop working?
The reason I'm wondering is you won't get good flavor if your using a dirty atty. If you want to try dripping my advice would be to get a regular 510 atty and a 510 drip trip rather then messing around with the tanko atty. Just my opinion.

Jessy, yes, for sure especially going into a vapor store. Last week we had tanks so this week I am going to go in and buy a drip tip straight away before we sit down at the table to try juices. I am just finding I hate the tanks and I am over cartomizers after using them for about a year. I love my clearomizers and am looking at the ViVi Nova but am kinda not wanting something that bulky (if I get a "mini" i may as well stick with my CE5 IMO).

yup... drip tip right on the atty :) i started dripping last week and now that i have about 40 different flavors of juice, it really helps when you want a nice clean puff of a certain flavor....
it is absolutely neccessary for trying out new juices..

Thanks for the feedback. I have mainly been using clearomizers and not using my atty at all really but to try new flavors. It's not very gunked up yet but I can see your point about the spike and not getting flavors to the coil properly. I have seen videos on how to pop the element out of the cone but haven't had the need to try it yet. I will make sure to talk to the guys at the store I am going to this weekend before making any sort of purchase. I guess my thinking on this is if I want to do a quick flavor change to avoid getting burnt out on one this could be the way to go.

The clearo's I am using are great but the flavors I am vaping are very dominant flavors and don't really "go away" even after washing and dry burning (especially the Watermelon LOL).

Thanks for sure! I just called the shop and talked to the guy there. They have an atty for my battery pretty inexpensive so I may pick that up Saturday when I go in. But will for sure be talking to him more about them. I just wanted to get a better understanding of "dripping" since I had never done that before with atomizers only using a cartridge type thing either the "tank" that I have with this system or the one with the poly fill ... which I hated.

Seems like you've got things under control. I just did'nt want to see you waste your money on a drip tip that you could'nt use in the end.:)

yup, smart girl..! i drip on both my ego 'B' type atty and i also bought a few of the "bridgeless" 510 attys... the bridgless are a little better because i don't like the way the big driptip fits on the huge cone atty...

also, side note.... i did just get the mini vivi nova, and i gotta say... it does beat a CE5... :) it's got great throat hit, definitely more like dripping than the CE5's, imho..!

i wish i had a vape store to go sit and try new juices..! lucky!!!!

I talked to Ace at the store I am going to this weekend and I asked him about the difference between the CE5 and the Mini Vivi and he essentially said the same thing as you did adding that it's also more durable then the CE5. So I may be walking out of there with that this weekend in addition.

I am noticing on the CE5 that the flavor isn't quite there after 2 cleanings so I think the coil may be going. I poured the rest of the Dragon's Tear that I had in it back into the bottle to wait till I can get home to change the head.

In 2 weeks on this forum I have learned more about this stuff then in 2 years of research on my own.

Love all the feedback on my OT of Atty's and drip tips.

In regard to my Original topic ... he said I could use a drip tip on my atty but that's not really what it's made for. I may try it out while I am at the store and if it's not what I am looking for TH/taste wise I may go ahead and get the "correct" atomizer. My BF's atty's seem to work better then mine ... figures ;)

as a side note; congrats on 12 days analog free!

Definitely pickup the mini nova if you like that size.
Only going to be one problem....

You might not want to use your other clearos after! I bought 3 more after my first, and my clearos got shelved...

If spending a little bit isn't going to hurt you, buy a good dripping atty and drip shield while you're there too.
I think you're gonna be MUCH happier!!

That made me laugh out loud ... not just "lol" but seriously almost snort water out on my monitor heh.

I do like that size as it doesn't look like a satellite on top of the battery (650).

Do you think I should get a couple because I like to vape a couple of different fluids or should 1 suffice? How many do YOU have ;) Or should I get one for my main vape then use the CE5 for my switch outs?

I'm gonna need a bigger gear box *sigh*

EDIT: SORRY I see that you have 3 mini's?

Definitely pickup the mini nova if you like that size.

update: I popped on a new tank (without condensation) and didn't fill it up all the way (kind of counterproductive to the idea of a tank) but it seems to be not only hitting better but flavor production is a tad greater, not greatest, but I can taste the vanilla (it's a thicker mix). I suppose that the condensation build up in the secondary walls of the tank could deplete flavor/vapor production? Not sure but I think I read somewhere here that was an issue.

Off topic: I replaced the head in my CE5 yesterday and it's got full flavor again so the head was bad.

Thanks for the update and although I don't use attys I learned lots from this thread. Better some flavor than none. With my carto tanks, clearos and Vivi I add extra flavor to offset the loss in flavor.
Cheers and thanks again.
