Have any of you actively tried or succeeded in cutting down you nic levels to zero or not vaping at all anymore? I'm feeling so much better and have not strayed to an analog once, even when out drinking at a smoking bar.

I could realistically vape the rest of my life but would love to know what it feels like to leave the house and not have the anxiety of making sure I have enough carts, batts, atty in my PCC to get me through the day/night.

I've been thinking about that myself. I normally vap 11mg, but with an order the other day i got a few samples of 16mg. Almost overpowering if i hit them to hard and with the passthrough i got i noticed the extra voltage also effects my 11mg stuff. Next time i place an order I'm going to go with some 6mg (especially for the passthrough) and see what happens. I figure as long as i'm getting the flavor I've come to crave the nicotine may be secondary. I'll give it a shot anyway.

I have not got to zero. Whenever I order juice I reduce the nic levels, so maybe...it takes longer to use up the juice than I planned, so this could take awhile. Just going from 36 to 24 reduces nic by about 1/3. Going from 24 to 18 reduces by about 1/4. This seems possible over time.....I am not in a hurry I think the important part #1 is not burning the stuff.

I'm starting to notice this. If i hit 5v to long or to hard it's a much harsher taste where a fresh battery with 3.7v is the most flavorful. Think i'm going to get one of those mobile chargers that regulates 3.7v all the time. To bad someone doesn't make a variac with a 3.5 to 6v range so you could dial in the voltage to your liking depending on the juice and the atomizer your using.

Nicotine intake is a tricky thing to manage (at least in my early days now). I'm bouncing between 16mg and 18mg like a ping pong ball, but in the end I think what hits your bloodstream depends the efficiency of the delivery device and the voltage. Take 16mg and use a batt operated 801 and I can vape all evening but do that in a Janty stick I actually have to get up after a short session and get some air because I unintentionally get too much nicotine delivery and it's an awful feeling this wired feeling, but you lose track when vaping via usb as your mind is on other tasks and theres the danger, you suddenly realise you've vaped too much because it's so easy. I'll have to get a weaker juice for Mr. Janty.

I am actually just the opposite of some of ya'll. I have been free of cigarettes for years. I still love it, however. I love the act of smoking...the inhaling, exhaling, taste..etc. LOVE it.

I was just introduced to the e cigs recently by a co worker. I had no clue that these existed. I saw him use his and I had to have one. Now I can "smoke" again without actually smoking. AWESOME!

So, while some of you use this to quit, I am using it to start....again :)

That's not exactly a good thing, IMHO. I mean, I'm glad you found something you enjoy- far be it from me.

This is a movement that needs positive stories from people that used them to give up buying and smoking actual cancer sticks, you know, the legally purchased boxes of death that generate a ton of tax money for people who hate on us, not really for people who actually quit and have now found their "habit" again.

Again, I am glad you are happy with your new discovery. However, you have to realize why I would think that this is a suspicious thread started on the internet by an anonymous poster who has 28 posts in 7 days.

Post all you want- but your message isn't exactly positive- from my point of view. And it doesn't really help to tell everyone that you "started again" after "years".

"Anonymous poster"? You should probably look again before you make comments like this. You may not like the topic but I am actively in support of the e-cig movement. I really wanted to hear if anyone had any luck cutting their nic levels down. Take it as you may but I assure you more people will be interested in this kind of topic when the time comes to wean themselves off.

I also hate to hear about someone learning the habit of smoking/vaping after quitting but that wasn't near my point in the thread.

I started on 18mg carts that came with my device and was quickly down to 9mg. I tried 0 for a bit. I went back up when I felt like I was sucking on the thing all the time. My brain wanted something it wasn't getting. Now I stay around 12mg and dilute or bump if I feel like it. But really, I smoked like that too. Sometimes more than others. I would be OK with 36, if I only did 1 ML a day instead of 3, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. I vape the way I smoked... all the time.

Well, technically and legally, these aren't marketed as a smoking cessation device. Anyone can use these for whatever reason they choose.

I am glad they are around so that I can smoke more healthily. I don't knock the reason behind your usage of the e cig and I would appreciate your not knocking my usage of them.

Great post Nole.
I was a pack-o-day smoker for nine years and since I got my 510 three weeks ago I haven't bought a single pack of analogs. I had tried other methods too (gum & patch), but I love the physical act of smoking and inhaling; and the ecig is what I was looking for. I have been using 18mg and it does seem like a step down from my old analog nic level, but I have adjusted to it. I would like to work down to zero nic eventually, but like other posters, I'm in no rush to get there. I'm happy enough being analog free for now.

(1st time poster - love the forum, it's been a great help and tool)
