I did a strawberry cheesecake juice tonite. First impression was awesome. Needs steeping but excellent right away. So i get all cocky and all, try subbing black cherry for strawberry. Sounds like a good idea? Well, no. Unless i change the percentages drastically, black cherry doesnt translate as well as strawberry. It could work if i drop the black cherry by half and up the cheesecake graham crust and ny cheesecake somewhat. The strawberry cheesecake recipie is as follows...

Flavor art strawberry ripe 10%
Flavor art cheesecake graham 5%
Capella NY cheesecake 3%
Capella creamy yogurt 1%
Flavor art acetyl pyrazine 1 drop (AP is at 5% in bottle)
I went for 6% nicotine and 65/35 vg/pg

This recipie tastes pretty good (to me anyway) and is a really close clone of a local store made juice which i wont name here.

Glad you got a "winner"! Makes you feel great, doesn't it?

I wonder though, did your bottles of Strawberry Ripe, Cheesecake Graham, and Acetyl Pyrazine say Flavour Art on them, or did they have Fa, which is Flavor Apprentice when some vendors rebottle the TFA flavorings? Reason I ask is I'm not aware of a Strawberry Ripe by Flavour Art, but...then again, I don't have many of that brand.

Black cherry is a strong flavor. Maybe treat it more like a cheesecake topping. You know, like a syrupy black cherry that is poured on top of a piece of cheesecake. Im guessing here but maybe black cherry at 2-2.5% and CAP jelly candy at 1% to thicken it up.
Nice twist with the acetyl pyrazine. Give the crust a nutty finish instead of the plain ol graham cracker

You may be right. I probably assumed fa stood for flavor art abd tfa stood for the flavor apprentice.

From what i understand about acetyl pyrazine being a very strong flavor additive, i figured a single drop would do nicely. And as far as black cherry cheesecake, im thining i need to re figure the recipie. Ill take in consideration your suggestions. Ill need to order a couple other flavors before i attempt this one again.

It is super strong. To much and everything will taste like frito's corn chips. Personally, I havent found a cherry flavoring I could stand. Alone they all have a bad off note, a kind of harshness. Might just be me.

You may be right. I probably assumed fa stood for flavor art abd tfa stood for the flavor apprentice.
It used to be The Perfumer's Apprentice (or The Flavor Apprentice; which is the flavor concentrate arm of the company) was always identified as TPA or TFA. But recently, it has become more commonplace to see it abbreviated as "Fa." Resellers that use that identifier, will differentiate Flavor Apprentice, from FlavourArt; as "FA" for FlavourArt, and and "Fa" for Flavor Apprentice. The lower case "a" is the tell. If ever in doubt, inspect the label closely, and often you can find the full manufacturer name in microscopic print. :)

As for the cherry, I have used Black Cherry TFA, as both a secondary and accent note, and as the primary note. As the primary flavor, I will only use 4-5%; and as an accent I use only 1-3%. If you want a lighter, less "in your face" cherry note, I have found TFA's Cherry Blossom to be useful. It is a light, more aromatic note, and generally 1-2% is enough to get the suggestion of cherry I am looking for without becoming perfume-y. I should mention that I have never tried using this concentrate as a primary, or even a stand-alone flavor.
