A few recent studies have shown that second hand vapor (not smoke) has no adverse effects to bystanders.

Arm yourself with knowledge and links saved on your smartphone (if applicable) and if accosted regarding vaping, be a steward to our community.

Also, be respectful of others who may not be willing to accept your choice. I'm a vaper and may prefer not to be clouded-out with strawberry creme vapor sometimes, too.

I know the difference between smoke and vapor, in the general way that we learn most words, in context ...

But I was prompted to Google dictionary listings, just to see what the formal definitions are ...

Turns out the "vapor" can be used as both a noun and a verb ...

va·por

verb
1.
talk in a vacuous, boasting, or pompous way.

Sooooooo, one might conclude that the ANTZ are vaporing !

I agree it's common courtesy not to blow vapor around people because unlike most here they do not understand anything about vaping. I have talked with many people about vaping and you would be surprised what I have been told. My favourite is that vaping is more harmful than smoking, or that nicotine is illegal. It is up to each of us to educate non vapers, but I believe the message is slowly getting out there, the Brit's have finally come around because of the government study done recently.

Ha's anyone experienced being told not to vape in public places because of second hand vape smoke, Lol

People "tell" me things all the time.
My chronic insubordination requires I make my own decisions.
Sometimes I tell them to "Magic word" -off or use the equivalent finger/hand gesture.

cheers

I am the same way. But, in my case chronic insubordination leads to chronic "not so fun" consequences.
Sometimes I tell them to "Magic word" -off
Never tried using a magic word -- I usually just use profane, vulgar, and ignorant ones
or use the equivalent finger/hand gesture.
    I usually use both hands

I ran into this during my trip to Rochester, this past weekend. The bus driver was cool about my vaping, as were the majority of the passengers (my fellow drum corps peeps). But there were two that were rather ornery about it. I just ignored them, though I did try to keep my puffs to myself.

That's noble of you for sure -- but knowing myself I probably would have made larger clouds and blew it in their direction -- the devil makes me do it :)

I've never been asked not to vape but I also use the common courtesy rule. I try not to exhale in other people's faces, but if the wind picks up a cloud I'll try and send an apology along with it. So far I've only received, "No it's actually not as bothersome as smoke," (from my father) and "That actually smells pretty good, what flavor?" (from people who are slightly educated about vaping).

I'm of the firm belief that you shouldn't vape where you couldn't previously smoke, because at that point you're reinforcing a habit that you didn't previously have, associating new things with nicotine.
