The only benefit to prolonging it IMO is to come up with a more convincing lie.

But here's the Thing.

The FDA has had 5 Years to come up with Lies to Questions about deeming. And had to have Known that there was a strong Likelihood that Sen Johnson would submit questions to them.

So the Plan from the Start was to Blow Off an Oversight Committee? And then force the Sen. Johnson's hand to Subpoena the HSS and FDA?

Well, considering Johnson's only been Chair since last year I'd say that's unlikely.

I just Imagine that the OOTP/HHS/FDA wouldn't consider the possibility of an Oversight Committee not submitting Questions given the Extreme Magnitude of the Deeming. No matter what Individual or Party was Chairing the Committee.

This is just a guess, but the longer they stall, the more likely irreparable damage is done to the industry.

Yeah... An Industry that has Proven it can get people to Quit Smoking.

Way to Go OOTP/HHS/FDA!

It's the States, counties and cities that will accelerate their agendas now. If the judiciary rules in our favor that mess won't be undone. The cat's outa' the bag; e-cigs are now officially pure evil. Even with the best FDA outcome e-liquids will be taxed beyond reach of many smokers.

And since this is the "Johnson" thread... It's June 20th and by my clock 3PM.

Lot's of fun speculation.
I'll stick with the we'll see what happens concept.

But I'm still hoping for an FDA smack down of epic proportions.
I think Ron Johnson has the power of Grayskull and intends to use it.

The US, and governments in general are working very hard to not have their decisions questioned, maybe they thought it would just fly

If it had just been the e-liquids, it probably would have.

But how can the FDA throw a banket over things that have No Nicotine derived from Tobacco in them and then Require that they be Called a Tobacco Product? Or that 0mg has to have a Warning Label which says "Made from Tobacco"? And then think it would Fly.

Most American Vapers are Asleep when it comes to Regulations. But they Aren't Brain Dead.

Maybe?

Yes, why would they make them so absurd? It's as if they are inviting controversy. But for what reason? Seems Ocelot wasn't too far off with deeming dogs. It is beyond common sense.

It does seem to Defy Logic.

Perhaps it is a Parting Gift from an Out-Going President?
Or that they know How Long a Legal Challenge will take?
Or that they Just Don't Give a :censored: about You or I or Anyone who wants to Quit Smoking?

Maybe ALL of the Above?

There is a fifth dimension of FDA policy beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension where the control over consumer products is as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light, common sense regulations and shadow regulations that turn metallic elements and compound plastic products into tobacco, between science that proves vapor is generally more healthy than smoke and superstition, where the mere mention of the word 'vapor', conjures visions of the supreme beast itself, made incarnate and rushing head long for the children, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears of lost tax revenue and corporate profits, and the summit of his knowledge that it is better to sell stuff that doesn't kill people than stuff that does kill people. This is the dimension of imagination, located in Washington DC. It is an area which we call ... The Twilight FDA Zone.

Zoi
I pick they don't give a.................
SAD All those rants for all those years for us to quit, and now we find out it was all a bunch of BS. Acs, aha, ala quit, quit, quit so we quit and they say quit, quit , quit. ......

Yeah... The Whole thing is Kinda Sad.

Maybe we are moving towards a Society where those who are in Government are Allowed to tell those who put them in Government how much Salt should be on your Crackers. Or how much Sugar is expectable in your Ice Crème. Or whether or Not a Smoker should have an Option when they have tried Cold Turkey and that Doesn't Work.

Sort of a Brave New World. One even Huxley couldn't fathom.

And one where "Unalienable Rights" are Not Protected by the Government. They are Defined and Regulated by the Government.

The idea of taxing VG at $1000/liter, depending on intended use, is also absurd. But that is the end game. They are very smart, smart enough to understand it is all or nothing.

Even Rod Serling himself couldn't have dreamed this up.
But thanks for the laugh!
