Best senator ever.

Majority Media | Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs Committee | Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs Committee

From his letter:

"As chairman of the primary oversight Committee of the United States Senate, I urge the FDA to be transparent and accountable in its regulatory actions. I ask that you please respond to my requests for information... Please provide this information and material as soon as possible but no later than 5:00 p.m. on June 20, 2016. If the FDA does not provide an adequate response to these inquiries, the Committee may be forced to resort to other means to compel the production of this information."

Yeah, FDA, put that in your pipe and smoke it (err, put that in your atty and vape it?). Wish I had a senator like that instead of my beloved pair of California senators who shall remain nameless...

Maybe a thank-you e-mail would be appropriate from us over legislated citizens. I know that alcohol comes in a lot of flavors, just as wine, schnapps and beer. Just requiring consistency would be fair. Are beer mugs and shot glasses regulated? What about champagne flutes.

I am not against age limits.

Thank you for posting this so others don’t have to wade through other threads to find the update. If he is voted out of office, I trust we will all carpet bomb his successor into following through.

I waffle on age limits. I began smoking at age 12, might have been 13, before I knew smoking was so bad for you. Wasn’t long before I did find out but by then it was too late. Wasn’t until I joined ECF that I learned I was self medicating for ADHD (by something like 40 years too late). Had some doctor bleeping bothered to diagnose me as a kid, I might have been spared. Now it’s big business to over diagnosis it. Go figure.

@Oliver, not sure how to do the @ thing properly, I’m sorry this wasn’t made its own thread earlier. I read your original post offline. I don’t fault them for continuing an old thread (they often get merged) but agree it deserved its own thread.

That is a great comparison.
I wrote the senator to thank him for his first letter.
I think another thank you/encouragement letter is due.

Writing to the good senator is a very good idea. He even stated that he's been hearing from people that HAVE quit smoking with ecigs. Some of that smoking habit was decades in the making and ecigs were the first to really work.

He is paying attention to our life stories and is not discounting them as anecdotal (as the FDA has so rudely and maliciously done) and not worth consideration.
