Thanks to Evapers for sending out my ego-T asap. However, I did not get it today as I had hoped. I should have it Monday :)

According to CP tracking the package was processed at the CP facility in Calgary at 1:55 am Friday. I live 50 kms due east of the City. You would think that I would get the package today but no way.

I spoke with the post office and the explaination was ... to make a long story short it takes a full day to get the mail sorted and loaded on the truck for delivery. Whatever.

Canada Post is bunk. So much for Xpress Post 2 -3 days delivery.

I did ask if I could stop by at the sorting facility and pick it up, no chance of that happening (understandable).

What I would like to know, if I ordered it yesterday and Rob shipped it yesterday using CP over night service (priority courier) would I have got the package today? Of course I would have.

The explaination by CP is bunk. It is all about the money paid for the service and nothing else.

And sometimes when you pay extra it doesn't do any good at all....

Damn straight. If you have a "0" as the first number in your postal code, it means an extra day at least, and if a "0" is the last number also, tack on yet another day.

Calgary to my place, about 1200kms can take 4 or 5 business days.

Wonder if I'll get my shipment from Greenhouse One this year...

I didn't know there were any postal codes like that, aside from H0H 0H0 (Santa at the North Pole, for you non Canuckians)! I feel your pain!

I've ordered from GH1 and it took about 3 weeks and a bit. How long has it been for you?

re: for Canada Posts ridiculous explanation to you, JayTheGuy... they DESERVE an Oscar!

Priority Post is a courier service. It's not processed the same as regular parcel.

There is a PRIORITY pack - looks like a fed-ex envelope but with PRIORITY written across the entire top of the envelope in bright orange letters.

There are no other envelopes that look like this.

Once at the sorting center - it's transported to the airport with all other priority and Xpresspost packs - then flown to the sorting center nearest the recipient's address - then given to a special carrier who delivers the courier mail.

The tracking number and scanning bar code is embedded into the envelope - so it can't be scratched or nicked or otherwise not read.

It's a guaranteed service - they advertise it all over the post office (Guaranteed "NEXT AM anywhere in Canada" - with a note in the fine print that it could take an extra day to some locations).

The explanation you received was very creative. Entirely free of reality - but creative. It makes my blood boil though - cause they made a promise, backed the promise and they broke the promise. If we (or anyone else) did business that way - we'd be out of business yesterday!
