Series mech box or pwm with potentiometer

I'm looking for something that performs like a series mech but with the option to not always run at 8 volts.

A series mech with a higher resistance coil.

I had a PWM BJ Box mod and the output was smooth and powerful - rated to 250w - with no "rattlesnake" effect at all. The box did produce a whining sound when fired, which is considered normal for that mod.

Point is, PWM is not an inferior or outdated method of powering a mod. If done correctly it is (or seemed to me) just as effective as any regulated mod I have used, including my Hexohm mods.

The regulated mode on the Noisy Cricket 2 uses PWM, and its smooth as baby's bum.

IMO PWM Mod's are a great medium in the transition to Mech's. I know that a lot of people stay with them, they have their place. Personally for me I just prefer Mech's.
