I read that shortly after this petition was created the white house upped the number required to 100,000 for a petition to be considered.
Don't let this opportunity that we have to be heard go by.

I sent an email out to everyone in my address book. Smoking and non-smoking people. I basically explained the situation. Told them how vaping has helped me quit cigarettes and that I wanted to keep my freedom to do so and didn't want the gov't to tax it to death. It's not tobacco and shouldn't be classified as a tobacco product.
Then I gave them these three links so they could read for themselves and asked them please to consider signing it to at least give the vapers an opportunity to be heard.

I also explained that to make an account to sign is no big deal. They only ask for your name, zip code and email address. For people not wanting to give the gov't info, they already know where you are anyway. And all of us should have an extra email for signing up for stuff anyway. That way you don't have to deal with all the spam you get afterwards in your regular email address (not from the gov't - from signing up for stuff). Give them that one.

Where was Dr. Abelow back in December?
I just sent him an email to see if he can use any pull he might have as the FDA considers the next step in their desire to regulate PV's.

OK, I did it in spite of my objection to a White House account. Come on folks, we still need another 4500 or so!

I emailed him and thanked him for writing the article. I got a reply back from his secretary saying she'll pass on the comments to him.
Does anyone know if we have all day on the 13th to get to 25,000, or do we have to have 25,000 before the 13th?

Yeah, I hope its not that close, but you never know. I've started watching how many people sign it each day, and I guess I've gotten a little worried. At this point, I'm not sure how much good this petition will do, but it could hurt our cause if it fails. I can hear people saying "Apparently nobody cares about this issue. They couldn't even get 25,000 signatures on an online petition.".
