Alright I may type quite a bit but it is only to get all the info out. I have been analog-free for six months. I have been vaping for nearly as long. I started on juices that were 100% PG. You know, just one of those basic ones you find on the majority of stock sites. I eventually branched out a little because I wanted to try all the flavors. I decided to keep close to PG since I looked up that I was already vaping 100% PG and seemed to like it. So I use 80/20 PG/VG (rarely 70/30) when I cannot get 100% PG however I noticed once or twice when I use those (which is rare) that I don't feel as well afterward.

However a time came (around two months ago) when I started to experience shortness of breath. I looked it up, said it could be because of quitting smoking. I was like okay whatever, kept vaping. It got bad, I looked up vaping and it said it could be because of a PG allergy. I went eek okay, well.... and ordered 90/10 VG/PG, 80/20 VG/PG, and 100% VG. However it got so bad while I was waiting for the juices to come in that I almost couldn't breathe, so I decided it was not vaping and went to the doctor. I had pneumonia. Got that treated, juices came in and I didn't want to waste them since I spent a bunch on them. So I filled up my new tank, popped on a new atty and started to vape my 100% VG. Only it was too thick and I couldn't get it into the atty. So I tossed that aside, got new parts, and started to vape my 80/20 VG/PG.

I almost went to the hospital with how severe of an allergic reaction I was having. Luckily I keep benadryl on hand because I have a tendency to forget what I'm allergic to. I was having trouble breathing, throat closing up, hives, etc. It was bad. So after I recovered that, I decided to make sure it wasn't just a flavoring in that juice. I ordered some of my other regular 70/30 PG/VG juices in 80/20 VG/PG. Same reaction after only a few inhales. So aside from wasting money, turns out I'm allergic to VG.

Now everyone may be wondered, "Well what is the problem? Just vape PG then!" Yeah.. getting to that..

I need help figuring out what to do because I seem to be allergic to VG but PG is killing me. I've never been the type who drinks many fluids AT ALL. This is not water specific, I happen to like water. I knew with vaping I needed to drink more but I figured why not, better than smoking. Water helps clean out the system, so great.

I can't seem to drink enough water to stay hydrated. If I drink the recommended daily amount and then some.. I feel like I'm drowning at a certain point. I was always scared of not hydrating enough but it seemed to not be too bad just here and there I'd feel like I was dehydrated and then I'd immediately handle it.

Well I moved two weeks ago and during the packing, loading, cleaning etc.. + vaping.. I became seriously dehydrated. The drive from Las Vegas to Florida was fun, fun, fun with my nausea, stomach cramps, dizziness, skin burning and itching, etc. I vaped little, drank a lot, got some pedialyte, started to feel better.

However the last two weeks I'm stuck in like dehydration mode. I am devouring water. I have two empty cups and an empty bottle next to me. There is no shortage to the amount of fluid that I'm drinking even though I feel like I want to vomit it back up. Yet.. as we speak I'm still scratching my skin off and my stomach cramps were so bad last night I nearly screamed and woke the entire house.

I don't know what to do. I can barely set the e-cig down for a few minutes. I actually vape so often I had to reduce my nic level because I was starting to get nicotine poisoning with the extra high juice a few months back. I can't quit using it.. not even for a few days. I'm surrounded by analogs constantly and this is the only thing that stops me from snatching one. Trust me.. I've thought of it many times with the packs that are left all over this house (I'm staying with relatives while I look for a place after the move). I can't go back to analogs, I was borderline CoPD, my doctor told me to quit or my respiratory issues would only get worse. With e-cigarettes and chantix, I managed to quit analogs. I'm NOT doing that again. Chantix nearly killed me, awful stuff. Ever since I started e-cigarettes I have had no risk of CoPD and I can breathe great (minus the time I caught pneumonia, completely unrelated to the e-cigs mind you).

So what can I do? I can't vape VG, I can't go back to analogs, I can't keep vaping PG, and I can't stop. I tried other quit methods or other nicotine methods but nothing works for me because I need something like a cigarette and need to inhale. I tried to do those 80/20 PG/VG but I'm still dehydrated and the more I vape of VG, the worse I feel with the allergy + dehydration.

*sighs* I just don't know what to do anymore.

Actually, the fact that you felt better after drinking pedialyte suggests that you have an electrolyte disturbance (for example, hyponatremia) and/or that you may be over-hydrated, perhaps to the level of having some degree of water intoxication. Too much water intake can dilute the level of serum electrolytes, thereby causing symptoms such as nausea, cramping, and dizziness. Both electrolyte disturbances and water intoxication can be life threatening. If you are still experiencing any of those symptoms, I suggest seeing a doctor asap.

I'm no health expert but I do know severe thirst and dehydration can be a symptom of being diabetic. It might be something to think about or check into. On another note, I met someone in the vaping world that had alot of problems and finally realized she was allergic to the filler inside the cartomizers, and now she vapes from CE2's which do not have any filler. I use atomizers and drip so that could be another option to not use fillers in cartomizers. I hope you find out soon, but that's all I can think of right now. My brother was super thirsty and his tongue would get so dry and he would drink like a gallon of water and finally he found out he was severely diabetic and they wanted to put him in the hospital. I don't mean to scare you but it's definitely something you should check into further if it persists.

Thanks MiamiMom :) I actually had that all looked into and I switched my vape setup. I felt immediately better. I have no idea what it was in my previous setup but I think I was allergic to something in production of it as opposed to the juice. So weird that I never would have thought of that.

I also went to a doctor and I was dehydrated, they also said I'm borderline diabetic again. I was back when I was pregnant with my son but after I had him that changed. Seems though I made my way back there. It has been a month and I feel much better now over all with just minor periods of dehydration :) Still working on balancing everything but figured I'd give an update!

I'm so glad you went to the doctor and found out what was wrong. I had a feeling you might be diabetic. Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you are feeling better :)
