Are you planning on refilling? Some people refill up to 10 times before tossing. It is easy (there are videos to show you how). I started out with 3 packs of cartos in various flavors and some liquid. I also bought several packs of the older coffee cartos that are on sale. (They are only 6mg, but 6mg is great on the passthrough at night!) The trick is finding the flavors that you love and that can take some time. Fortunately, Steve usually throws in a few carts to try with each order. I use the 16 or 18mg during the day, some people start off with the 24mg. I wouldn't start any higher then that though unless you are really a heavy smoker.

If you like menthol, people have said that that is the taste that is most like an actual cigarette. ;)

Just type smilin in the coupon section - you will get 10% off.

I think Steve is coming out with Nuport and Kool flavors in the next few weeks, so if you are a menthol fan, you should be good to go! But do try some of the other flavors too!

High def vid went up about 20 min ago, but it's still processing so might be a few more min before its as good as it'll get...and if i hadn't had to run it through the damn editor to shave...get this: 3 seconds...off of it, it'd have been double quality...damn windows movie maker and it's maximum possible resolution settings being half what i can produce without it *shakes fist* but still, i think it'll be ok.

How is it possible that people who try the 510 AND the VK prefer the 510? I guess we all have different preferences, but sheesh! The taste of the vk is way above and beyond what I experienced with my 510. I seriously wish I had seen more on the Vk before I spent about $300 on 510 and accessories! But you know what? I found my ecig and that is all that matters. I am off cigs for good and that is worth all the money I have as far as I am concerned! It is just going to take a bit longer until I break even is all... right??? Thank God my hubby is as thrilled for me to be off the analogs as I am, maybe more so. He is a good guy (of course, he hasn't seen the bills yet... ;) )

Anyway, the draw is a bit light on the battery but is easily remedied by putting your fingers lightly over the air holes. I have a feeling I will get used to the lighter draw eventually, but for now that works for me. The passthrough is a perfect draw in my opinion. Surprisingly, I actually like the automatic battery as opposed to the manual, not sure I would switch back even if they do come out with a manual for the vk, but we'll see.

All of the flavors I have tasted so far are the 16 except the peach which is 11. I think I will keep ordering the 16 since it seems be be satisfying to me, although I may order some 6 and 11 for nighttime vaping.

So far I have tasted the chocolate (yummy), the cappucino (yummier), the marlboro (best tobacco flavor I have tried so far compared to the 510) and the peach...mmmmmmmm. The peach is yummy and very very sweet. I don't think it will ever be my favorite vape, but it will always have a place - I like it alot and will always want to have it on hand. The Vanilla is very tasty, and again, I will want to have it on hand. So far the cappucino is the overall "ding ding ding we have a winner" flavor for me.

The tobacco flavors I have tried are ALL better then I have had on the 510. WAY better! The Ry4 is a bit too sweet for me but ok. The camel is very rich tasting and just a bit on the sweet side. I will definately keep some on hand. The Marlboro is my favorite and to me is the closest to smoking an analog. It will probably be the taste I vape when I am drinking something sweet like "boat drinks" :)

Ease of use? Forget about it! Way less muss and fuss! And on the 510, I found I was always dripping a few drops on so I could taste something, even when the cart was new. This has consistant flavor. Man I love this baby! The vapor king doesn't NEED a mod because it has everything going for it already!

So I have to say on a scale of 1 - 10 I have to give this baby a 15! If you were even considering giving this one a try, do yourself a favor and do it! I just can't find enough good things to say about it!

JenJen, you got stickied:p

What makes the Vapor King different from the 901/510/801, etc etc is the cartridge design! The Vapor King utilizes a "through the cartridge" atomizer design which means that the juice is never more than about 1/8th of an inch from the atomizer.

Instead of a single hot point atomizing juice, a slender tube like atomizer runs through the length of the filler material...wicking juice, vaporizing it, and sending it on to the user while wicking more juice. When a Vapor King seems empty, it *is* empty... unlike a 510, which just wants to vape the first few drops while the rest of the juice hides at the back of the cart and hope's you dont notice it.

Because of this design, the atomizer is in constant contact with juice, and in a larger quantity. As a result it can vaporize more (bulk) juice faster, and the juice and airflow keep the atomizer fairly cool, comapred to other types.

Is it just the juice (asked above, gotten to now)?

Nope! It's *How* the juice is atomized! In a 510 or other e-cig type, the juice is wicked with a bit of braided metal wire or a wad of curiously steel wool looking material, then heated with a small coil of wire.

To get good vapor production the atomizer in these types has to get pretty darn hot. To get ample volume, it actually has to exceed the vaporization temperature of the PG in the liquid to atomize enough quantity to satisfy the users demand for vapor.

The Vapor King's "through the cartridge" design allows the liquid to be vaporized at a greatly reduced temperature, and as soon as it's vaporized, its on it's way...no hanging around getting incinerated by the atomizer. This changes the flavor of the juice. As an example; Dekang pineapple (Dekang is one of the primary juice manufacturers in china) when vaped in a 510 or 901 tastes like cooked pineapple...Pineapple upside-down cake would be a good comparison. That same juice vaped in a Vapor King tastes like a fresh pineapple chunk carved right from the pineapple. It's simply a matter of how the vaporization takes place and at what temperature.

Because the atomizer is never more than 1/8th of an inch from it's juice supply, the vapor production and flavor are consistant from drag to drag, instead of starting off weak (flooded) followed by fairly good vapor production and flavor, followed by weak and burnt (dry) of a 510/901/etc.
Excellent explanation, and it makes perfect sense after seeing pictures of the cartomizer taken apart.
I am completely sold and have no doubt that this design is far superior.

So if they do not ban these things, I'll probably be making the switch eventually.
Then I'll just have to figure out what to do with my HUGE stash of 510 atomizers and batteries.

Sure would be nice if they were compatible with 510 batteries instead of 910 batteries.

Glad to see you over here. KC does a great job explaining things, certainly better than I! As for the 510s, I think mine will be going up for sale in the Classifieds! More money to buy VK stuff with!:D

That is a good idea! I have a whole kit unused and tons of spare parts! I kinda would like to hold on to the PCC, 2 batts, 2 attys, 2 packs of carts, charger and passthrough though. Like I offered Kristin - if she wanted to try the ultimate ultimatum and didn't like it, I would happily trade for it with a comparable 510 set.

(Not that the 510 is comparable or anything...;))

Hello everyone. This is my first time in the VK section. I have been vaping for a little over 3 months, and have all the standard models: 901, 510, M401...plus a 510 Prodigy with an 801 adapter, and a 510 Nicostick. My problems are:

1) constant refilling or topups of carts
2) battery life that sucks (even on the Prodigy, to me)
3) inconsistent throat hit
4) flooding atomizers
5) hassle of trying ALL the cart mods (PTB, straw, PTB plug, tea bag)
6) leaking carts
7) poor flavors (especially on 510 and Prodigy)

I read the posts above on some of the benefits of the VK over the 510, and I need to know:

1) is the flavor in a VK as good as a 901 or 801?
2) is the TH comparable to the 510?
3) do you go through as much juice to refill cartomizers as you do the 510 (especially on the Prodigy)?

I get good TH on the Prodigy 510, but the flavor is lacking. Plus, I normally like to use carts, and the Prodigy is mostly for dripping. My 401 is OK for dipping, but I can't dip driving down the road or while working. My 901 has a three second cutoff (automatic :() that is aggravating...and my 401 goes off while I am walking with it (can you say DEAD BATTERY)! I have been trying to stock pile some things for the 510...so one more question- how long can you store filled cartomizers?

I know this is a long post, but I wanted some info and advice on the VK, before I decide to do any "switching"

P.S.- the die hard 510 fans will probably hate me, too :D

Hey there! I started E-CIGGING with a Mini USB Model. Then, switched to the M401/402. Then, switched to the 510, the Volcano/Blu, and also the 510. I think I can shed some light on switching....lol.

The flavor in a VK is potent, and based on what you read in the forums, very clean. You also need to remember that you aren't blowing out your atty's and cleaning carts...therefore, no mixed flavors. When I smoke my MARL carts, all I taste is MARL. I don't have any remnants of Cherry, Coffee or whatever liquid I was using in my carts/atty the day before. Even after cleaning.

Throat Hit? Comparable if not better. Whats most importantly, is the throat hit is CONSISTENT! You'll notice within a couple of minutes that, "Hey, I don't need to top off my cart or direct drip to get a throat hit. That's a selling point for me.

As for juice, a cart lasts me just over a whole day, so I refill a LOT less. I can fill a cart with 18-20 drops of juice. I was direct dripping 2 drops at a time into my 510 atty throughout the day (each time I wanted a throat hit). I got sick of even thinking about refilling my carts by the time I was ready to give up my 510.

All of the ECIGS I had were good to me, and led me here, so I am grateful...however the rest of those models just take up space on my desk now.

Hope that helps, and welcome to what I hope will be the best ECIG you will try! And hopefully the last.
