I don't understand? What doesn't work right? I went ahead and filled one up and its working perfectly with my auto battery.

Maybe because mine are manual batts. I have one extra long and several regular V4L manual batteries and none will work with those particular carts. I'll use them up with the Cigeasy batts I have or find a staple and stick it in the hole.
("staple mod" I was told to try)

Hey everyone, first post on this forum. This seems like the best place as any to say hi, so hello everyone. I've been a pack-a-day smoker on and off, for the last 12 years or so. I've quit twice, once for 2 years and once for 6 months. I do simply love smoking but not to the extent I was. Vaping is the perfect substitute and I hope the FDA backs off.

I, like most it seems, have been researching PV's for a while. I am still waiting for my Blucig order, which I should just cancel and I also just ordered a 501 as well - should arrive in another day or so.

The only ecig I've used to date is SmokingEverywhere Gold, which I am not happy with at all. I should have done more research before buying, but it was convenient - at a local smoke shop. It has kept me off analogs but I'm desperately awaiting the arrival of the 501.

Now, after reading this forum, Steve's introduction and everything, I am thoroughly convinced I need to order a VaporKing. I love the idea of an effortless ecig. Reading about the 501 makes it sounds great for overall vapor output but everyone talks about the atomizer constantly needing drops. I already don't like the idea of all the maintenance. I will keep my 501 regardless because it should be nice to have around. Luckily I didn't invest too heavily, yet.

So in a week or so (when I get paid) I will place an order with VK and use my 501 until it arrives and my vaping becomes that much easier. I need something that just "works" without all the fuss and above all else, performs true to advertised.

This SmokingEverywhere unit really, really sucks, carts don't last long at all...the atomizer has persistent burning flavor and since I don't have any eliquid to top it off - I constantly change-out the carts to avoid killing my one, single atomizer - then having to buy a pack of analogs until the 501 arrives.

Truly, I'd like to thank everyone for participating in these forums, expressing their ideas and guidance for newbs like me. I have been reading through this forum for a week or so and absorbing all the quality information.

Also, thanks to Steve for his honesty and for what seems to be the best ecig on the market, customer service, dedication and conviction.

much respect and happy vaping everyone,
joe

After reading these forums for weeks now and going back and forth a hundred times on what I thought would be best for me to try first, I finally decided that the VK is probably the one. Then I remembered (I think) that the cartomizers are made of metal and that is why I shied away from them. I have some concerns.
1) I live in Wisconsin which gets very cold. Cold and metal don't go well together and I don't really want to be freezing my lips off while other parts of my anatomy are already freezing.

2) I don't particularly want to do damage to my teeth with a metal mouth piece if I accidentally hit a tooth or bite down on it.

3) I'm not sure I would like the feel of sucking on smooth metal when I take a hit. No wise cracks please. :)

Are these concerns unfounded? Thanks.

Mark (Doshma) is from your neck of the woods and has said he never has a problem with the cold. As far as the carto goes, that was a concern of mine too because I used to chew up the filters on cigs. But the carto was easy to get used to and I did not miss the feel of a filter.

BTW...the VK is my first and last ecig. I have ordered blank cartos and juices from another supplier ....still waiting on Steve to get blanks in and I have been curious about other juices. However the main reason I ordered from Steve was on account of his customer service...I knew it would be good because like you, I did a ton of research before making a decision and I knew I wanted to quit analogs. So I concluded the stress would be less knowing if I had any problems...Steve would take care of me.

The other reason I ordered the VK was because of the no muss no fuss feature meaning even less stress. There is nothing like carto's IMO. I have not tried any of the other models and never will. The carto is easy to refill too...it really is a fun device aside from being a lifesaver, and the support everyone receives here both from V4L and the people is awesome. The stuff Steve sells is good stuff but if you ever have a problem you will be taken care of.

For me the VK has been a miracle. I smoked a pack and a half per day for 40 years and have not had a cig since I took my first vape. I remember when I first started vaping and an hour went by and I was doing great and proud of myself. Now its going on 45 days. I will admit I still get a craving at times for an analog, but the VK makes it easy to get past the cravings. It hasn't taken a whole lot of determination for me to stay away from analogs...and that is a good thing.

Again, thank you for the replies. Everyone here is very friendly and informative.

Gazoo, I too have smoked for forty years and am rather sick of it.
I think I will probably give the VK a try and hope it does well for me. I do like the idea of the cartomizers. From everything I have read about Steve, I feel I will be in good hands as far as customer service. That is very important to me.

A couple more questions if you all don't mind.

Will the charger in the in the Vk kit charge both manual and auto batteries? I would like to try both to see which I prefer.

I know nobody can speak for Steve but do you think he would let me get one of each instead of two of the same type? Has anyone else done that?

The PCC and other chargers will charge both manual and automatic batteries.

Like you said no one can speak for Steve, but ask about getting one of each.

The charger will charge both types, and in the comments section, just note that you would like one of each type of battery and I am sure he will try and accomodate you. (He was low on auto batteries I think, and only had green in, but may have gotten some in.)

Okay.........I am off to order my first and hopefully last e-gig model. Wish me luck and thank you everyone for your help.

I'm pretty sure I will have more questions later though. :)

I forgot to mention I started with 24mg...but since have cut back to 16-18mg. I am sure I did the right thing by starting with 24mg as that strength was what I needed to get off the analogs. But after a while it started making me a bit figity so I had to cut down a notch. Of course everyone is different.
