So, I had a bunch of used/semi used cartos that we cleaned out via the boil for fifteen minutes twice method, dry overnight (we waited two days for drying).

I just got some new juices today, and filled up a couple of these boiled cartos, and the vapor production is really weak, and they're really hard to draw from. What's going on here?

Yeah I've been hearing people having issues with boiling a lot lately. I wouldn't really recommend it. Just my opinion though, too much room for error, and cartos weren't meant to be boiled hahaha.

I just top off my cartos with the same flavor, or a flavor that will compliment it, get as much use as I can with it, then throw it in a jar for a rainy day or if a ban ever happens.

First check to see if the air hole in the middle is open . You should be able to look thru the center of the cart and see light thru it.If you can't use a paper clip or some like it to open up and center the air hole. That should fix your problem. You did not say how you rinsed them out after you boiled them. If you you did not rinse them and blow them out then they have a bunch of dried out juice in them and need to be recleaned and blown out. I clean and refill all the time and once ans awhile a cart wiil just kind of die on you. After all they were designed to be disposable.
If you are stiil having problems or questions just PM me and I will see what I can do to help. Hope this helps!!!:)

I do think in my next order I will get the pre-filled one and top them off then once there done throw them away the biling method is not what I like to do getting to messy and to time wasting. So will do that for now on.Son don't told me I would have to do his sooo going to do this seems alot better.

Ok, I just boil some and now where do you put the rice. to get them to dry faster.

We boiled for 15 minutes, rinsed under running water.
Boiled another 15 minutes, rinsed under running water.

Then, we put down paper towel and blew through the battery end to blow out any water inside.

Flip upside down (battery end up) onto paper towel for a couple hours to drip dry, then we put them in a tupperware full of dry rice overnight... just mixed in so the rice would soak up all the ambient moisture.

Now, this is the method we did and I am now having a problem with my cartos not performing as well as they did before boiling... so, I'm not sure you want to follow this to the tee. :D

They're so cheap... Why would you want to boil them? Boil them? Seriously?

I use one for a few days sometimes longer if it's a good cart and then I chunk them..

Other than the cost of PV's it cost me maybe $10/week to vape vs the $65 or $70 I was spending on analogs.. Cartos are cheap....

Treat yourself to a new one every now and then...

Hi All,
I have boiled them a couple of times but the only ones that seem to work great after are the Vanella ones and I don't know why. To dry them I use the clothes dryer. I know it sounds goofy but we have a tray that fits in to dry tennis shoes on. I put the cartos on cookie sheet and run the dryer for a cycle and they are fully dry. I haven't done this in a long time though because they (except for the Vanella ones) just don't seem to work as well.

You DONT NEED TO BOIL CARTS to clean them.... Sheesh

I dont know where people get the idea to clean everything you have to boil them.

Use these cheap little cartos, refill them a few times or so and then toss THEM in the trash.. They Are CHEAP and not meant to last forever,,, LOL

I don't think anyone has said that you NED TO BOIL CARTS, but I do think that some people would like to save a little money if they can, and many many people have had great success doing this. I am still using carts after 6 months and they are still kicking out the vapor just fine.

We boiled for 15 minutes, rinsed under running water.

Now from what I have been reading I see one flaw in how you were cleaning them. When you blow them out, blow them out from the mouth piece end. If you blow them out from the battery end you will not get the water that is down below the center post that sticks up inside the cart. That will take a really long time to dry out, and you will still have old juice in there gunking it up. Just blow them out from the mouth piece and then let them sit for 24 hours and they should be good.

Now someone did mention and I think it is a great point, make sure that the center hole is still in the center after you do this. use a straightened out paper clip or a syringe needle to straighten it if it is off center.

I UNDERSTAND YOU JUST FINE. I'm pretty new to this (just started vaping about 2 weeks ago) and have been lurking this forum for a while now getting information. I had a bunch of cartos that I got with flavors I didn't like. I ordered new juice, and wanted to reuse those old cartos.

From information ON HERE, I learned about the boiling method... if you have such a problem with people boiling their cartos out, perhaps you should attack them on the threads SHOWING PEOPLE how to boil them out.

"Sheesh."

For everyone else who was trying to help and not be a total jerkoff: the center hole is still aligned, I can see straight through them. Apparently, the boiling method isn't the best idea, and now I know that.

Live and learn.

I will say that if there is any water left in them, you will not get very much vapor at all. You will also notice that the flavor isn't quite right, usually watered down to a point. Just my 2 cents :). I hope you do find your method out. Some people just run them under hot water, and some people just fill them with the same or similar juice. I can't do that because I try so many different juices it just wouldn't work out for me very well.

I am glad that people are trying different things to make their vaping experience better for themselves and others. That is what we are here to do, to help each other out and to give advise, and who knows, Gravity might just find the best way to clean a cart yet! :)
