Got my sigelei zmax telescope today from Perry at varitube and I have to say I am pretty impressed. It was not near as big as I thought it would be, which I am very happy about, and it is really sturdy feeling and has some good weight to it.

I also got the black carbon fiber j wrap for it but in the pic did not put the bottom tube piece on yet, will do that tomorrow probably but I am kind of liking the two tone:)

will definitely take some getting use to but so far it has been easier than I thought. Trying to still understand the variable wattage thing where it is suppose to switch automatically depending on resistance of the clearo. I tried it today but stayed at 7 watts for both 2.5 and 1.8 but Perry explained it to me but not sure I understand quite yet. Definitely a learning curve for me.

by the way Perry has been very helpful!!

on with the pic :) sporting the full length!

Looks awesome in the two tone. I'd leave it like that.

When your in VW mode, the wattage you set will never change. The only thing that will change is the voltage output based on the resistance of your cartomizer/atomizer. So no matter what you attach you will always be vaping at your desired wattage.

I kind of like the two tone as well :). So let me make sure I understand. Do I need to switch it to voltage mode in order for it to do that? I tried two different clearos tonight in wattage mode and one tasted great (the first one 2.4omh) Then the other tasted burnt (1.8 ohm). I was thinking it would go down for the lower resistance.

J warp the rest. Looks like a kid with no pants on - LOL

LoL! Pants on the ground :)

THAT is exactly what I was thinking! Just didn't have the heart to say it! :p

OP, the device looks beautiful until it goes skinny! Would look great with the rest JWrapped!

There is not a wrap for the middle, just the lower tube, so the skinny part, between the two tubes, will still be silver. Perry said the reason being is when put in short mode there is not enough clearance in the lower tube for the j wrap, when it screws up for the smaller battery option. Now in short mode with the smaller battery, it is all covered. Looks nice t me either way.

Honestly the only reason I did not wrap the lower tube was because there are holes around it and I was not sure if they were for venting. Found out they were not so looks like I will be wrapping the rest of it tomorrow :)

No, you do not need to switch it to voltage mode. In wattage mode, when you press the fire button, the unit will check the resistance of the attached cartomizer/atomizer and adjust the voltage automatically. Thats the beauty of variable wattage, you set your desired wattage and you never have to change anything again because the device will do it automatically. If the 1.8ohm clearo tasted burnt, then your wattage is ether too high for the juice, or your clearo died. If you had your wattage at 7watts and it tasted burnt then more then likely your clearo head is dead.

Gotcha! So even though it says the same wattage and I can't see the voltage, the voltage changes automatically with the watts staying the same? I was thinking I would see this change or checking of the resistance on the screen. Not that I have to, as long as I know it's doing it. I assume I will still have to tweak certain ones simply because certain juices may need it.

On another note, I think I am experiencing vapors tongue anyway so probably not the best time to be testing it :) The only thing tasting half way decent is icefire from dnd vapors.

Regardless I think I am going to enjoy it. I love the size. I am a female with average hands and this fits in the hand perfectly even with the longer battery.

That is correct. Everything will be handled behind the scene. I've found that most juices taste best between 8 ~ 10 watts, I generally stay at 9 because anything higher and I start to get a warmer vape which I dont really find pleasing.

What resistance do you typically use? I have a ton of 1.8 heads that I really don't want to go to waste but I have also ordered some 2.5 heads. Also been talking to another member and he is going to be walking me through making my own wicks so I can change them out even cheaper :)
Also thanks to the folks here that have helped me finding the right stuff and getting off on the right foot!

You got it now, I usually set mine at 8 watts, but sometimes fine tuning by going up or down is desirable. I like VW because I use multiple delivery systems running different juices with different ohms, strangely I stay about 8 watts on all. I think you will love that device, I want one, but it will have to wait.

Maybe its just me, or quite possibly the juices (AiV), but I have been getting better flavors at lower wattages, around 4.5-5.7 on both my eVic and Sigelei telescoping mod. Taste is subjective though. What is this vaping tongue I've been hearing about? And to the OP, do you happen to know what version mod you got? I just received mine last week but its got notched lines going across the body rather than down it like yours. Btw, the wrap looks good I want one for mine to cover the bland silver. My screen has also developed little lines under the letters/numbers, don't know what's going on with it, just a heads up.

Nevermind about which version you have, I just found out there is a flat top version, like I have, and a slanted top version like the one you have.

Great and thanks all!! Hmm, lines under the letters....hope that does not happen but as long as the lines dont go through the words and. Numbers i guess that would be ok.

Yeah I really like the j wrap and they come in so many colors and I may venture out and get the hot yellow one but for now I think the black with the silver looks pretty good.

I also love the SS Ming tip. I got that from perry too and glad I did.

Got my "your item has shipped" notice from MVS on my pro tank and can't wait to try it out. :D Probably should have gotten a couple but I have been debating on trying out a carto tank but thought before I did I wanted to give the pro tank a chance to shine!

Are you sure your talking about wattage and not voltage? Even a Joye eGo with a 1.5ohm clearomizer will put out over 7 watts.

Yes, on both of my mods I am using variable wattage, from what I've read on here there's no use in setting voltage since it will set itself when you set the wattage. I did just read that you get less gunk build up at higher wattages, so I will give it a try, but I personally am getting better flavors at lower levels...
I also woke today to find some sort of air bubble underneath my screen of my Sigelei mod, looks like I will have to contact my vendor to see if they will exchange it.

Edit. So after flipping the Sigelei around every which way inspecting it, the air bubble , or whatever it was seemed to disappear, too bad I didn't snap a pic yet. The little lines do remain, when your screen is displaying one line they appear below the words or numbers, but in a two line display such as the first option in the menus, the line displays through where it says on/off. I hope you follow, I know a pic is worth a thousand words but sometimes I can be lazy.
