Nobody's slapping your hands here, honestly. Sorry if it seemed that way. We were just letting you know the way things are in the subforums.

Most people that are new members posting here have been lurking for a while and know some of the guidelines. When they don't know people will tell them what is usually frowned upon in the forums.

We try to help moderate as a community and help new users. It isn't solely the responsibility of the Supplier, or even the general moderators.

Sorry if it came across as rude.

Check out the m401 Model Specific subforum:

M-401/402 "Mini" & M403 Super Mini - e-cigarette-forum.com • The place for electronic cigarette reviews, news and chat

It has a lot of info on the Mseries and you can post about any link or supplier in that area as well as the rest of ECF.

Don't be mad, you're welcome here!

I don't know how to work the quote thing... so...

"Shawn pays to have this subforum to offer information and support to his existing and potential customers. So linking to other sites that lead people away from the supplier is considered disrespectful."

I apologize to Shawn, I had no idea forums such as this existed, much less that I was on Shawn's.

It should have explained it to me before I someone threw their 2 cents at me. There was no malice intended in it.

FWIW i snagged one of those other PCC's "elsewhere" than my Happy Place (Litecig) and they're not all that. you get 2 full 401 charges outta them, that's it, and they do continue to drain after a batt is fully charged if you leave it on the charger which means you have to babysit the darn thing, kinda defeats the purpose of the convenience, easier to just bring a few charged batts with you. the only real perk is cosmetic.

from what i understand the "genuine smoore" product will be a "smart" PCC that won't do this, so it'll be worth getting even for those who already have the generic model.

what I'D LIKEto see is a PCC with interchangeble lids so it can hold various-sized fully-assembled cigs. or just different-sized snap-on tops for the lid so you didn't even have to change the lid, just the top. i'm looking into some fabrication for one as we speak, though it might have to be metal. the cheapo generic one i have now will make a good guinea pig.

so smoore is the name of the guys who came out with the 401 im guessing?

everyone who sells them seem to have come up with their own name for them. even some claiming to have come out with "new and improved" m401 v2

of all the places ive bought from only 2 or 3 have sold me parts that didnt crap out after 3 days. Shawn being one of them.

If he says his will be better than other's I believe him

I got one also, they should have put a stronger battery in it. The 401s, to me, last longer than any others I have, so it's gonna take more juice to recharge 'em! I'm going to get a 401 PCC from Shawn when they get here. I like the way the 702 PCC works.

I got a J108 PCC, didn't like the PV, & pulled the PCC apart. The 'innards' are one complete piece(one plastic piece, with the other stuff glued on). Seems to me that if you could get a cig case that is the same width/depth, but taller, you should be able to slide the 'innards' out of a PCC in it & have a case that would hold an assembled e-cig. Maybe one of those old cig cases that the top slid down over the bottom. You'd have to have a PCC that the battery screwed in to it.
Dunno, just a thought. Shawn, you could make a mint!:D

Indeed, Smoore is the original manufacturer of the M-series models, including the M401. Original Smoore parts are usually pretty high quality -- clones can be shady.

I'm pretty sure Sailebao (makers of DSE products) have a M401 clone out there...

so the j108 cases are tall, then, Nunya? is that an m4xx pv? i thought it was what the Sidesho was, a supposedly improved m4 series whose cases still require disassembly. so hard to keep track of all the generic numbers..

(i still like the idea of switchable tops, clean, simple and flexible if done right..)

i thought of another less-elegant (or more elegant depending on one's view) but equally convenient DIY solution giving one more charged batt to start off with, which is a simple clip of some sort (one of those metal pen-clips would do in a pinch) glued/screwed to the side to clip an assembled pv to for the road.

Shawn I have been and still am waiting patiently for you to get the PCC for the M401. I would also like to get a couple more of the usb charger for the m401 without the wires as they seem to work better for me (I don't need the wall part) any chance of you getting any of these or telling me where I can get them? I also saw the thread about colored batteries that would be pretty cool my favorite color is blue. Thanks for your help.

The switchable tops wouldnt work without switching the connector that the battery screws into, would it?

I was under the impression that each different cig has its own thread...
pitch, depth, male, female, ect....

no no, i meant the lid of the case that covers it all, so it could be removable at the hinge on the back of the case; they could snap on and off with little hinge-clips. i'm just saying i think this would be a slick design feature for any model case, not talking about switching out the innards for multiple-model capability, though it would be cool if that was modular too!

The J108 cases are about the same height & the J108 has an atty like the 401s, but the connections are opposite and the carts won't work on a 401. The inner cart will(sort of). In fact, from what I've seen of the 401 XL cart, the inner carts are the same(both D shaped).
Here's a picture of the 2 piece analog case I was talking about:

If you could stick the 'innards' out of a PCC in this, you should have one that is adjustable(or could easily be made that way). I'm thinking about getting a few of these & see what I can make.
SS...
