USPS is really... lacking in their abilities. ...Unfortunately my favorite vendor ONLY ships through USPS. I would gladly pay more to use UPS or FedEX.

Agree, except for the UPS bit. I've had them mark a package as delivered and then send the sucker across the frickin country and it took me weeks of calling to finally have to go to a distribution center and pick it up.

Understood...but at the same time I think most of us want to order from the places that we get the best and fastest shipping (and sitting for 2 or 3 days is not very efficient to fast shipping).Maybe if I lived in that state it wouldnt be an issue and I initially ordered because it was a good price,Never had long waiting periods for shipping and usually got little extras from vendors....guess thats the downside to being a noobie and having those experiences with vendors be so excellent...then we get a little bent outta shape when its not.

Fedex yes. Ups no. Every time I have something delivered by ups, it shows up looking like it's been used as a hackie sack by a rabid t-rex seriously tweeked out on .....

Except for one time. I had checked a book out from the public library. Decided I liked it enough to buy it. Placed my order on amazon on saturday night. ups actually moved it on sunday, and I got it early monday am in impeccable shape. I guess the secret to having something shipped by ups it to first have a perfectly functioning duplicate in hand before ordering...

I had a package I was following (very expensive shoes) and one day it said "out for delivery" .... yippeee!
Then it said "delivered" but no large box at my door. I went to PO and they said "it was scanned as delivered ...." and looked at me like I had delusional syndrome or something. My mail-lady specifically remembered she "did have any packages for you", but PO guy at counter (on my 3rd visit there) still said "it shows it was delivered".
I ended up calling my neighbors, and my $130 New Balance were on the next cul de sac over. PO never aplogized or anything.

Once a vendor hands it over to the USPS, its really out of their hands. Literally:unsure: They just cross their fingers and hope for the best.

As far as a package destine for Missouri going to NJ first. The USPS is a government agency. Does anything the US Government does efficient?? Not that I can think of..

I just ordered 3 510 kits from litecigusa, the usps sent it 200 miles east to sorting facility, to ship it back west to MN?? Thats your Government @ work.

I haven't had an issue with UPS here where I currently live. In fact, I work in a shop that regularly gets packages delivered via both UPS and FedEX and have had no problems. I'm actually on first name basis with the UPS driver, and he stops in to chat once a week or so.

But you guys talking about them reminded me that I did in fact shun them for awhile. I was in Austin, TX, and ordered a brand new and rather expensive motherboard online. I paid for insurance and the thing that requires a signature. One day at work I check status online and it says "Delivered, Signed for by" and then it had a jpeg of the signature, which said "Dr. Porch". I though it must be a neighbor in my apt complex I haven't met. I get home, and its sitting on my door step.

The key to UPS is NEVER write "fragile" on a package...they take that as a challenge:p
I think that the concerns posted here are very valuable for vendors as well...it lets them know what we find important in a vendor IMO. It seriously stinks to do a order with a "new to you" vendor and then something like this happens...it makes you wary of trying new sources for your supplies, unfortunately. I am on a super tight budget and cant afford to just go order from a closer vendor til my stuff actually shows up and now stupid me has been buying cigarettes again to keep the nicotine monster at bay. It sucks but all we can do is wait and see maybe those of us that are waiting will get a pleasant surprise tomorrow.

BluSwatch,

Did you happen to noticce what kind of shoes the mailperson you got the strange look from was wearing? "Oh crap I've been caught wearing womens shoes!" can look alot like "you must have some type of delusional syndrome". Errmmm... So I've been told. Not that I was caught wearing womens shoes or anything...

I contacted Vapor God directly about all of this he asked me to go ahead and post this..

Anyone effected by the USPS's errors where their package went all around the world for no apparent reason....please submit a ticket on our site. We will issue you a 50% off eliquid coupon to make up their error. We apologize for the delay on the part of the USPS. We are confident this issue is not due to our local PO or our labeling or we would fix it on our end immediately.

Thats awesome. Even though I have a vendor I love, now I'm going to try them just because they're so damn cool.

I think there are two major problems with USPS lately (this is just a thought I had)

1. It's the Holiday Season, (they think) they are allowed more screw-ups do to the volume of packages sent.

2. (and I believe this one more than #1) They are POed about everyone using e-mail instead of them, and are taking it out on us, knowing we are waiting (stalking? :)) patiently for our latest fix.
They are even closing Post Offices around here due to lack of volume.

Just my ramblings
Balth

On a lighter note, I did get my package around 5pm.
