heavy or not so heavy really depends. Maybe you're vaping harder than you think, or the attached device/carto atomizer is adding more resistance and draining the battery. Even the way/length of way you draw the vape can affect the life. I use an 18650 battery device with a kick that is 2000 mah and it lasts me about 8-10 hours. I am a heavy vapor.

I have a couple 650mAh non-twists that I've had for awhile (longer than my sig indicates, that's when I quit analogs.) One is down to 45 minutes, the other is still at a few hours but stopped charging today. My 1000mAh twist still lasts 7-8 hours, but I've only been using it for a couple weeks. The batteries seem to wear quite quickly, how long have you had it?

It's all about battery condition and atomizer resistance. If you use coils below 2 ohms, the charge life goes south. With standard 2.4 to 2.8 ohm coils, you should be getting about an hour vaping per 100 mah of battery capacity.

Look at 18650 mods like the Vamo. An AW 18650 IMR is rated at 2000mah and will give you an all day vape.

I had a question on this. I was reading Apple's advice on iPad battery life, which is to totally drain the battery at least once a month. And people say that when you get a new rechargeable battery for, say, a power tool, you should immediately run it to zero and recharge it fully twice before starting normal use.

Does the same hold true for e-cig batteries? And if so, how do you completely drain an auto e-cig battery without sucking until your cheeks turn inside out?

for average vaper,650mah should last about 6 - 7 hours (100mah last for an hour for average vaper)
but as @anavidfan, @Vapoor eyes er, n @DaveP said..its depends on how your settings, how your vaping habit, how your atomizer ohm are..its all depends on those thing..
im heavy vaper..i vapes all day long,i can say i vapes all the time..
i have an eVic with 18650 battery stated 2600mah..i set my 2ohm w/ 3.8-4volts..2.4ohm w/ 4.1-4.3volts..3ohm w/ 4.6-5volts..
this setting let me vapes at least 2 days until i need to recharge it again..

i really dont have a right to answer this, lets wait for experienced user to answer..
but i did know, ecig is categorised as a gadget like smartphone..
n most of ecig used AW IMR battery which is noted: "please use only high drain battery on your ecig" (some sort like that)

I assume then that the reason my 1000mah twist runs down in about 3-5 hours of decent vaping is a combination of it being set at 4.2, and using a cartotank with a dual coil cart in it. I was hoping that it would last me all day, but I guess that's the reason it doesn't. At least I have a standard 650mah ego style battery to use while it's charging up. :)

even local shop didnt recommend usage of dual coil and high resistance tanks on PV below 1100mah,thats might be the reason why..
btw,having spare PV is useful right?for emergency purpose..quite a win :D
