Interesting issue just came up with my GGTS. Just had a new SS bottom cap and 2012 steel button come in for my older aluminum GG. After install I noticed the button was getting abnormally hot. Replaced the button with the old one and found the button almost too hot to touch when firing. After replacing the bottom cap the button stopped heating up. Anyone have any ideas why this might be happening?

the plastic insulator between the bottom cap and firing pin of the bottom cap must be damaged allowing the metals to touch would be my first instinct anyway based on what you've told us... good news is I believe Bruce @ COV still has some in stock as I just picked some up because I always like to have at least 2 spares of any plastic bits in the GGTS as these are really the only weak spots of the GGTS...
