Should I buy vaping gear before it's banned?

Some years back folks were afraid that would happen luckily it did not.
Now again there is talk and the FDA seems more into it now a days than in past.
I think there will be regulation this time around how far those regulations is anyones guess at this point but if it happens as bad as the FDA's written regulations not in effect yet it will be a dramatic change and things we enjoy now may not be around as we know them.

As an older person thats been vaping going on 7 years and dmoked for more than i care to mention it will not affect me and the Mrs as we are stocked for our lifetime.
Its my hope that they will not come to bare for others.

It's up to you whether you do or not.

With the new regulations coming into play, according to the FDA an estimated 98% of the market will either not seek approval (due to cost) or won't get approved after seeking it.

This will change what will be available to the consumer, fairly drastically if their (the FDA's) estimation is correct.

If you have a favorite device, one that might be one of the things to have a more difficult time getting approved (the ego type will always be available) like a mechanical device or other such device, then know that these are the types of devices people are stocking up on..

But if you use ego style batteries or anything with an integrated battery then no.. your prices will go up but you can't stock up on those anyway, as batteries themselves have a shelf life.

But some of us, yes, we are stocking up on our rta's, rda's, mechanicals and regulated devices that we love..

Yes. If you do not DIY liquid learn basic recipes (unflavored perhaps) and put some nic in the freezer. If you do not build your own coils, get a basic RBA and wire of some kind, watch youtube, and learn the basics. If you have a favorite mod and atomizer, get a couple of spares and coils. How much you stock up depends on age. I can go until age 113 so I'm probably good.

I'm thinking I should grab some additional mods and atomizers before they are banned. What say you?

Short answer - No.

Longer answer: at least make sure you got some failsafe type backups.

One thing for sure, ecigs won't get banned.

When cigalikes get cheaper than cigarettes, that will be the turning point, and we might even be past that point already in some places.

As for eliquid, I buy glycerin from the pharmacy and add 5 to 10% bottled water (just eyeball measurement) and use that as my base liquid. I buy eliquid from a local shop and just add a drop or a few depending on what strength I get to my dripper, then top up with 10 to 50(sploosh) drops from my base liquid depending on which dripper or rdta I am using.

I'm stocking up on things, but not in an overboard fashion. The most vulnerable link, in my mind, was nicotine so I bought a couple liters for the freezer. RTAs and mods I buy when I can. V/G, P/G, flavoring, batteries (I hope!), wick and wire will not be hard to get as they are not vaping specific. If some sort of lockdown is put on vaping equipment I feel pretty good about being able to continue to vape.

Yup, no nicotine, no vaping, so unless you have that, or enjoy vaping with 0 nic, get a few liters in your freezer. Depending how much total nic you vape a liter for ~$40 can last you several years. It looks like doing DIY for one year now that 1 250 ml bottle was enough. Even though I knew the math, it still validated that a liter of nic will last me ~4 years. Of course, YMMV.

I have no interest in DIYing liquid, but have thought about possibly stocking up on Nicotine to add to flavored, zero nicotine liquid in the future, assuming (of course) that liquids without nicotine may not be affected by outlandish taxes later. I currently sub-ohm with 6mg and use 12mg in small, steathy mods for quick nic fixes.

Is it relatively easy (I assume so) to simply add the proper amount of nicotine into flavored liquid at my levels without affecting flavor much? If so, for my nic levels, I don't know what nicotine base mg is best for my intentions. Anyone know? Also, I like a throat hit, but hate harsh, peppery nicotines. What brands/vendors tend to have the best nicotine for the price?

I am more than stocked up with mods and tanks... Too much in fact, so I need to find a cure for Shiny-itis. :D

The more nic you add, the more you'll dilute the taste of the flavorings. However, to keep it in perspective, for a 6 mg juice I need 1.8 ml in a 30 ml bottle. 1.8 ml isn't going to dilute things all that much. Of course the appropriate amount to the size of the bottle, and your 12 mg will require 3.2 ml, but that will still only dilute the entire 30 ml by ~10%. Probably not even noticeable.

Edit: those figures are based off of using a 100 mg/ml nic in either PG or VG.
