Quick facts:
- New to DIY
- I've been VERY careful with this stuff
- I currently vape at 80pg/20vg % at 12-18mg nic. This could change.

So I want to cut it down to where I'm not in a state of paranoia whenever I'm mixing.
Is there a discernible difference when diluting nic with PG or VG besides VG being thicker?
Which one would be better for freezer storage in glass jars, if any?

Are you talking about a huge quantity? If so, I would transfer the nicotine to glass and freeze by itself. You can transfer to small bottles so you don't have to handle one large bottle. Pull out a small amount, mix up a batch of base if your more comfortable doing that. When you make your calculations though, your going to have to allow for the percentage of flavorings you're going to be using. For example, if you're going to use 10% flavorings, allow for that when you mix up your base.

It scares me a little that you did not indicate the composition of the other 90% of your existing nicotine liquid and that you did not indicate the VG/PG ratio which you'd like to end up with.

It doesn't matter. The OP wants to make a dilution for storage purposes.

Well, if you mix it with 7 parts of base to 1 part of nicotine liquid, you'll have a 12.5mg/ml nicotine solution. If you mix it with 6 parts of base, you'll have a 14.3mg/ml solution. 5 parts of base, a 16.67mg/ml solution. 4 parts of base, a 20mg/ml solution.

That's why I asked the OP how much they were purchasing. Are they purchasing for the zombie apocalypse or just a small amount? A 120 ml bottle is about the size of a large aspirin bottle. Making dilutions you'll have a large amount to freeze.

I have about 450ml of 100mg pg nic. So I guess I'll break them it into smaller sized 60ml bottles and stick them in the freezer undiluted.
I'll be OK on the math if I do decide to batch up a base. What I really wanted to know was if there was difference (i.e. taste, longer-lasting, etc.) between freezer-storing a pre-mixed base using PG and/or VG.

I just found a few empty european dropper 10ml bottles in a draw. They were used for Bath and Body Works scented oils that my GF likes. Going to soak and clean them out well. I'll keep those out and ice what I left over.

I feel safer once my base is down to about 50 mg nic. I would double the volume you have with pg giving 50 mg pg base, split into smaller glass bottles (200 to 500 ml each) and put them in the freezer. I've found a local supplier of both brown and blue glass bottles who caters to the essential oils and skin products business for mine.

I would not use those bottles because I do not understand what is in scented oils. That is just me though. If you do understand and know you can clean them and be safe, go for it.

Madvapes did some research into nicotine loss in over time in pg base. The results are here. They did not do a comparison to vg. I'm not aware of any issues with taste changing over time. PG lasts longer than vg in general because of its antimicrobial properties.

They're for use with home decoration oil burners. The bottles will be fine once I'm done soaking them in detergent water and vinegar afterwards.
