So, in the short month or so I've been vaping, I moved down to 12mg from 18 because I found I was making myself "nic-sick" on occasion @ 18. 12mg is great, but the problem is (I know some of you don't see this as a problem, so bear with me!) that I'm chain-vaping like crazy - I never want to put the thing down, and that's just not how I want to play it right now. Should I go back to 18mg so that I don't carry this thing around like a pacifier, or wouldn't that help?

Add: Now I don't walk around in public vaping, but I work from home & homeschool my kids, so I pretty rarely leave the house & I don't want my kids thinking this thing is surgically attached to my lips or, for the younger one, to confuse it with smoking because she's too young to understand the difference.

Thanks!

I'm in the same boat. I recently went down to 12, but was totally chain vaping. I really don't know if it is the lower nic or that I have recently recieved some great juices. One thing that has been helping me is dripping. It's not a huge amount of work, but I can't sit there with the thing constantly at my lips.
I think it's more mental (for me) - at work I can't chain vape but still feel fine.

I would try Bumping back up to 18mg during the day. And then use your 12mg at night.

One Question. Do you Hold your PV in your Hand a Lot when your Not Taking a Hit?

Thanks, I think I will try that. Some vendors have a 14mg or even a 16mg option, but I don't think that's the norm.

I wouldn't say I hold it even when not taking a hit (although I do put it in my pocket sometimes). As a rule, if it's in my hand, I'm vaping

You've got nothing to loose by trying to use your 18 mg during the day when you're busy around the house to see if you can vape less often and use your 12 mg in the evening. It can also help if when at home you get yourself out of the habit of carrying your ecig around with you and leave it sitting in one location in the house that you have to go to when you do wish to vape during the day so its not so handy and easy to vape all the time if you are always carrying around with you. Not sure why people so often seem to thing they need to use only one nic level all the time as there is nothing wrong with mixing it up to fit the circumstances and needs. ;)

One thing I tried was to buy the Same Flavor in Different mg levels. That way if one was Too Strong or if One was Too Weak, I could just mix them Togther and not have to throw one of them out.

I agree with not Holding your PV Constantly.

Here is something I posted awhile back....

When I first started Vaping, I Chain Vaped a Lot.

I mean a Lot. Seems that I was carrying around my PV all the time.

One mourning I got up from my Mourning Ritual of Reading e-Mails and Cain Vaping to go into my bathrobe to brush my teeth. When I got into the bathroom I put my PV down and turned on the Water in the Sink. Then I pick up my PV in my Left hand and the Toothbrush in my right. Realizing I didn’t have a hand Free I put my PV down to grab the Toothpaste. Now that I was all ready, I picked up my PV and put the Toothbrush into my mouth.

As I looked into the Mirror with a toothbrush in my mouth and my PV in the Other, it Hit Me. What the Heck am I doing? Why am I carrying my PV around with my 24-7?

The point of this Long, and somewhat Bizarre, Story is I was holding my PV way too much. Hence I was Chain Vaping. I started taking 5 or 6 hits and then putting my PV down.

The first couple of Days felt weird. Not Smoking and Not Holding my PV. But after that, the desire to Chain Vape became less and Less. After a Month or so I was using my PV just like an Analog. Take some hits, put it down. 40 minutes later, take some hits, put it down. Etc.

Now None of this may apply to Everyone. But if you find yourself Chain Vaping Constantly and you hold your PV Constantly, try taking a few Hits and then putting your PV down.

It worked for me.

You could mix same quantities of 12ml and 18ml to get a 15ml vaping. See how it goes and if you feel that you need to, add a little bit of 18ml more. :p

I think the jump from 18 to 12 was to big a step, I would be inclined to bring it down a little slower, perhaps by getting some 18mg and some zero nic and diluting your own, there are online calculators to help you work it out, say bring it down by 1mg every say week or so but keep some 18mg on standby for any stressful times, that's what I plan on doing

Thanks for the advice, everyone! It probably was too big a jump, too soon. I have a little bit of 18 juice here & will definitely try mixing w/some 12. I also plan on ordering some sample juices this week & I think I'll get them in 18. Now that I think of it, I actually have some 0mg samples here that I could work in as well :)

It doesn't help at all that some of these flavors are so darn GOOD - damn you, Rawr!! ;)

Definitely let us know how things go when you New e-Liquid order arrives.

One thing to Remember is you are only 30 days off Analogs. You Mind and Body goes thru Many changes when to quit smoking.

Maybe getting "Nic Sick" was the Direct result of Too Much Nicotine. Or maybe it was a Result of something else like Too Much PG, Not Enough Water, Stress, Eating Habits, withdrawal from the 3000+ Chemicals Besides Nicotine found in Cigarette Smoke or a Combination of Some/All of the above. It is much Easier to suggest a Solution to someone who says they have a Problem when that Person has been Analog Free for 90 Days.

I chain vape quite often, but it's primarily for throat hit and chasing a good flavour. That was confirmed to me when I dropped down to 12mg for a couple of weeks and turned into a cranky git. As soon as I went back up to 18mg it was business as usual - less cranky, less of a git, chain vaping as usual.

There's a theory doing the rounds on this side of the pond, that 45mg might be the holy dose, and there's a lot of anecdotal evidence of people finding themselves vaping significantly less while not getting the headaches and shakes most of us have experienced with too much nicotine.

To me this seems like a "no ..... Sherlock" moment, and I'm of the opinion that consumption may well creep up over time again, however slowly - not for everyone as we're all different, but for many. That's kind of why most of us start low, at 2 or 3 cigarettes and some of us end on two packs a day. The old reward system kicking in, flooding our bodies with lovely dopamine thus reinforcing a pattern of behaviour that leads to said reward. Some of us are just better at consciously putting the reins on that galloping horse that is momentary pleasure.

I say don't sweat it too much, maybe try to limit it to periods in the day when you feel like you have earned the time to sit down a while and vape your face off. You could of course try going back up to 18mg, it'd be interesting to hear if it's affected your habit in any way.

Besides trying the above suggestions, put your PV in a non-high traffic location until you want a vaping session. When finished vaping, put it back in the same location. That way you always know where it is and you must make a conscientious effort to vape.

Good luck!

Funny in a way...

I used to do that when I was cutting down on Analogs to get ready for e-Cigs.
