Should I stockpile? And how should I store?

OK, new vaper has spent the week researching everything from juices to carts to batt upgrades, and begun that newbie on-line shopping spree I'm sure you all went through. Then I saw the potential for a problem.

While most of the vendors I've placed orders with have been very responsive, one highly recommended e-liquid supplier warned "10-13 days processing". The pass-through I wanted was "out of stock -- check back later" at several sites. Uh-oh. Could I have trouble getting the supplies I need to keep up with my new obsession?

See, I travel -- my SO, three little dogs and I live in an RV and we are on the road full-time. Right now, we're in our favorite winter camp and will be here until late February, but most of the year, we stay a maximum of 6 days in one place, then we're down the road. We don't do a lot of advance planning and rarely have reservations; we just stop when we feel like it. We've been doing this for more than a decade and we have most of the "nomad" problems worked out, but receiving mail and shipped packages is one that just has no good solution. Even if we wanted to pay for express shipping all the time, there's a very small window for ordering from on-line sources when you won't BE here in just a few more days!

So should I stockpile now, while I'm sitting still for the next month? How deep a supply of attys/carts/juice do you veterans keep on hand? And how do you store your supplies? Space in an RV is very limited and I'm already finding it challenging to keep my e-cig supplies handy but safe from little dogs, much less secure for travel. Are there any custom/creative solutions you've found for storing all these small parts and oh-so-chewable squeeze bottles?

And if we do run out of something essential, are there enough bricks-and-mortar sources out there that we can find supplies as we travel? Do you know any particularly good ones that are worth a visit? (We've been known to change our route just to visit a recommended restaurant, so why not a recommended vape supplier?) Any near our current location in Lafayette, LA?

Hi.......lucky you being able to travel all the time. :sigh:: Anywhere is Louisiana is a vast desert of zero Brick & Mortar. I have first-hand knowledge as I live in NW Louisiana. Try this as you go from place to place. Not all stores are listed for every state. Houston is a good place to find b&m as is the Dallas FW area. Happy trails.

What you might look to find is a large christmas type cookie tin
cookietins.com

This will keep all those little bits and bottles safe where the dogs cant get them. Its still a storable thing tho. The lids are pretty tight from what ive found, I have an american eskimo dog that thinks everything is his, then our so I have to be really careful. You could get even fancy making dividers and such inside it using styroform or something like that. Or the kind of stuff they use in camera cases as padding.
and other idea is a fishing box that closes tight.

You are going to have kinda gage how much e-juice you are using a day, how long your carts are lasting and so on and go from there.

I use one of these for storing supplies. It's very easy to snap and unsnap together plus you can add to as you need to over time:

Amazon.com: Snap 'N Stack Seasonal (4) 6"X9" Rectangle 2.5" L(6): Kitchen & Dining

I am also a newbie at this, just started in early December, and highly recommend getting samples of e-juices (e-liquid) from different vendors so you can find a nicotine strength that does well with you, pg/vg favorite and flavors you like. If you buy sampler kits, you'll have a nice little supply built up.

I also have 3 510 set ups (battery, atomizer, cartridges), 1 900mAh ego passthrough, 1 1100mAh ego c twist with variable voltage (VV) and 1 350mAh ego mini. I bought all of them as kits so they came with the chargers. I'm also in the process of determining whether I like the tanks, cartomizers or clearomizers best so I've got a stockpile of different ones (with replacement parts) to try.

It's trial and error, at first, to find what works for you and works well. I would highly suggest trying out some different things, while you are still static, and if one website doesn't have something, then another one will. Most sites ship very quickly! I can order something and have it 2-3 days later with some sites with their standard shipping.

I would google brick and mortar stores when you are traveling as they are not everywhere. I wish you lots of luck!

I made the mistake of not ordering enough of my all day juice and was desperate enough to buy a refill pack of green smart living cartos at a gas station. I didn't even know if they would work but I wasn't about to buy a pack of smokes. They worked on a passthru that I had and didn't taste too bad. I got the strawberry and it tasted like an Apple fruit roll up but it worked for me till my order came in. Just make sure you have enough of the stuff you like till the mailman comes again.

Great ideas, folks! Keep 'em coming. I especially like the idea of a tin with a good, tight lid -- I could create my own foam insert to customize a bit and no matter how good it smells, the dogs couldn't get in. (I already have one bottle of cappuccino juice that proved too tempting -- and in case anyone was wondering, duct tape doesn't seal the leaks in a squeeze bottle very well!)

Looks like finding supplies on the road isn't going to be optimal. I looked over the link from lulu836 and many states we travel are just flat-out empty.

I know I'll have to judge the rate that two of us use e-liquid and will definitely stock up on that once we've identified some favorites. But how about the hardware? I'm assuming that the rechargeable batts should last a good while, even for inexperienced users who might mishandle or abuse them. So if we have two or three apiece, will we be good for six months at least?

And of course, we'll be experimenting with carts/attys/tanks/clearomizers, based on recommendations found here. But since we're both total noobs, I don't know how to judge how many of those to stockpile. We only have a few weeks to learn, shop, receive, try things AND order in a supply before we're on the move again ... we're quick learners, but I don't know if we're that quick?

If you google, mAh chart for ecig batteries, then look at the third link down, it will give you a chart of how many hours a battery will last. I found it very interesting. As far as how many months a battery will last, I have read that they only last for 300 recharges so I guess it depends on how long the battery you buy lasts and how often you have to recharge it. Hope this helps:)

Age will also kill a lithium battery, used or not. They're best stored around 40% charged for longest life.

If you're careful never to completely drain the battery and careful not to overcharge it, they can go for a lot longer than 300-400 charges. Unfortunately, most of our chargers are set to 4.2 volts, a little higher than they should be for optimal life.
