3 vision spinners

If the voltage of a lithium-ion cell drops below a certain level, it's ruined. Lithium-ion batteries age. They only last two to three years, even if they are sitting on a shelf unused. So do not "avoid using" the battery with the thought that the battery packwill last five years.

That it has more mah than what you are used to?What does it mean when a brand new battery is slow to charge?

Did I just get lucky with the spinners?
My Istick 50 worked great for the 18 months it was in daily use. It still worked great when I retired it from active duty and tossed it in the stash drawer. 3 months later it's totally dead and won't hold a charge. It still turns on if plugged into the charger, but it won't fire anything now ("low battery"). Bummer, I'd formed a sentimental attachment to it.There are a lot of questionable wisdom on batteries around the Net. So, just some common sense.
My iStick 30 is 2 years old, used daily (10-14 W), charged at least every other day. Do not think it lost a lot of capacity, at least I do not see it. My Kindle is 6 years old, still going strong. Of course Kindle is gentle on battery, but it can be seen as a model of battery storage (so, I suppose 6 years of storage is quite possible for a brand new battery). The main thing is to store mods in air conditioned room (or somewhere colder) and to check voltage. It's an easy part: just press fire button once in a few month (may be even once in a few years, I have no idea how fast discharge of an idle battery is). Charge when needed to 50% of full charge, or charge fully and vape for a while.
You need to check and charge them as needed. If you want to, of course. My Istick 50 worked great for the 18 months it was in daily use. All my old ego stick batteries from 2014 are dead now too. The only internal mod I have that still works is my ancient Istick 20 that's been in the drawer over a year.
Internal battery mods...non use is a form of abuse, apparently.

What is a "chemical balance"?Lithium batteries are recommended to be charged to around 70% for long term storage.... just check on them every 6 months and use them a few times, then repeat.
The worse enemy of such batteries is to have them sitting around until they do end up too discharged, which ends up damaging their chemical balance.
Have three of them myself. Best "ego" battery IMO. Have been using one for well over a year now and have the others in storage. My first vision spinners are still in my rotation. Great for out and about. I got my first 2 for Christmas 2012. I still have a total of 5 of them and so far, knock on wood, they all still work great. I never bought a clone but sis did and hers died a fairly quick death.
