Should vapors brush the teeth more often?

I had a dental appointment shortly after I started vaping (33yr smoker), and dental hygienist told me I had some reduction in gums....
6 month later (only change besides continued vaping, I invested in a 'Water Pik') gums are now much healthier, no other changes made in daily dental hygiene.
