No more polishing needed gonna be great, do to many things where my hands get dirty and fingerprints burn my eyes out lol.
Just saw your settup while checking, cant wait to see pics of them.

Thanks, going to be my very first brushed PV ever. No more fingerprints, ZAU and Gryphon should look great on it. My pics are shiny but as soon as I touch them its over with.

If I like the brushed, then brass brushed will be # 723

I cant afford the Damascus coming out

There's a couple things about using an AW 18490 imr. Yes, an AW 18490 imr will fit fine, plus you will receive 4 brass center pins, each 1mm different in length to use most all batteries I don't know how Pedro is making the 18490 tube lengths now, but my #81 18490 tube is not kickable as it is 3mm too short. He may have lengthened the default 18490 tube length by now, but I'm not sure. I don't kick so this was not an issue. I prefer the shorter length and if I order another 18490 tube I would have the shorter one made. Hope this helps.
Hi all, I was wondering on the 18490/18500 batteries for my unmade Caravela. Well, all 3 tubes in fact

Anyone know whether the AW IMR 18490's will fit as I have a couple of those. Or will I need to get the AW IMR 18500's? I plan on placing a battery order since I need some 18650's and figured may as well get what I need in one order. And it is the AW IMR 18350 also right? Or do I need other types? Like flat tops?

Thanks for the help!

You know, besides the mods being gorgeous, does anyone else feel good about buying these because Pedro just seems like one helluva nice guy? Works for me. I'm really fond of the way he laughs. Ehehhehehe. Gotta love that.

I have never met him :(

I ordered simply because I was looking for a fully mechanical mod, and saw this one as the most beautiful :)

I've never "met" him either, but his forum is full of his postings. He is very polite and accommodating, and starts every communication, email or post, with "Dear friend". Check it out, you'll get a feel for Pedro the Person. It's his hobby, not his profession. He knows what folks are getting for the nicer RBA's too, so I think he prices based on his time and cost, not what I'm sure he knows he could get for these. My perspective, anyway.

I did email him, and asked if my order was correct. I included the picture he has of the brushed brass, and asked that he make mine exactly like he made his. He was indeed very polite!

But the longer I wait the more changes I want to make. For instance, I ordered the brushed smallest tube, and the 2 other tubes are polished brass. I am rethinking that decision as I heard that the polished are a bear to keep, but then I have a chrome ProVari so think maybe they would be along the same lines as far as that goes. Then I start worrying about the money and think I don't need all those tubes anyway? Or maybe I should get one of the SS tubes also. But then remember I went with brass because I have a chrome Provari and wanted a different look. And then I wonder if I should order more tubes in other configurations, but since I only have one unit and can only use one tube at a time, should I bother? You get the picture. Luckily, I have kept this to myself and haven't emailed him other than that first one.

Any recommendations for a nail biter like me? :)

Sure. It's human nature, and I think it happens a lot. I believe that the order changes fall to his friend Ko4ik, who admits it's a pain, but I think he understands and happily does it for his friend. I went through the same emotions, and finally requested the changes I sought. Just do yourself a favor, and imagine how you'll use it. Wait until it gets close to the time he will ask for payment, but not TOO close, to avoid changing your mind again. Finally, ask politely with a little humility for the changes you would like, and only do it once. I don't think they will mind. It isn't chump change, and I believe he would rather that you get exactly what you want, rather than not.

I wrestled with the same issues before finally settling on my order. I decided to try to get as much as possible on the first order so that I won't have to pay for shipping in the future. Something tells me I'll be getting another Caravela with the opposite colors before he discontinues them.

Btw, Ko4ik is really nice with answering questions and I really seems to do it because he loves the Caravelas. I saw him say the other day that it's a pain but he gets a lot of emails with people really excited and with a lot of !!!!!! and that makes it all worth it to him.

Your brass is so shiny! I have the 18350 and 18650 brushed brass tubes and the ss shiney 18490. One question... would it be possible to polish, or have polished, one of my brushed brass tubes, and would it look as good as if were originally polished by Pedro??? Thanx in advance.

Thanx LongHaul. I have been using the 18490 ss tube 80% of the time I've had it. I like the patina that is building up on the 18350 brushed brass though. I really like the way in the youtube vidieo review and mine is almost there. I figure I couls clean them with Brasso in 5 minutes but natural patina takes a good long time. I often wonder if the lithium I take, will create a unique "sane", patina!!!

Yes he is a kind soul! Did you see his interview on you tube? The cat who did the review interviewed him. I didn't understand a word they spoke but he seems like a genuine guy with a passion for excellence!!! I asked the interviewer for a translated version but it never happened. I like the way he always says, Kind regards my friend...
