Yep. BF'ed it. Air comes in through wick holes now. Got a couple of them cheap awhile back and couldn't resist. Not great with the center coil now.

Pretty wild, do you use it with the tank on?
Also, I would try raising the coil level with the wick holes

Was up sick all night last night so I thought I would pass some of the between bad times with an experiment. Moved the coil to one of the wick holes, made it vertical, plugged the other hole with a snip of silicone tubing. Holy cow what a difference! Flavor oozing out of this ridiculous looking thing. Three negatives, it was a PITA to get that wick through the bottom, the built in "drip tip" gets pretty hot, and it is easy to over squonk.

What did you have to do to the A7 to make it a BF? I have one I don't use and am thinking of building a BF so it would be a good one to start out with.

DavidOH, On the A7 I converted to a bottom-feeder, I had to add an air inlet hole to the side of the cap with cutting wheel on a dremel. Because once you attach it to a bottom-feeding mod you can no longer get air thru the bottom, only juice ;) It's a bit airy, but it has good flavor and descent cloudage.

Here's a pic of it on my gdeal DNA40;

did anyone turn mutation x or stillare into bf? i really wanna do it to my attys

yup....

mutt x1,2,3... Several of each. The X2 seems to bottom feed the best but finding a replacement SS screw with a head thin enough is hard. I have done stillare clones which can be had with gold plated stainless posts (best option) or you will have to make a SS post (difficult). The stock authentic stillare is gold plated copper and very challenging to drill. (Think short taps with the drill and lots of oil for cooling.). If you must slot the insulator make sure you buy extra insulators, drilling them or slotting them greatly reduces the integrity of the insulator which WILL lead to spinning posts and/or shorts. Best of luck.. Give me a pm if you get in over your head.
