I just wanted to ask the long term vapers on this forum if any of you had gotten really sick after vaping regularly? Like weak, tired, kidney pain, heart palpitations, chest pain, heavy breathing while sitting still...feeling like you're going to die? I haven't even been able to vape much the last few days because I feel so icky, but have been switching back and forth between vg and pg for the last month and it has kept getting worse, so it's not really one or the other. I don't want to be told to go to a doctor because I hate them and don't want to explain all this to them, when maybe it is something else. I didn't even want to post this because of the latest issues, but if it is related it should be addressed. No medical advice, please -- I just want to know if anyone else has felt like this and if they went to the dr. or it went away or what? Or if no one has eperienced this and it's just me....:?:

I've only been on the vape for a couple of weeks and have not experienced any of the problems or symptoms that you noted. As jacksid put it "go see a doctor." Your health is too valuable to risk on an armchair diagnosis and if these symptoms persist untreated they may lead to even more severe complications. The body is remarkable and if we just listened to it we would be amazed at what it would tell us.

I have been vaping for three months and not experienced anything like that....even if it isn't what you want to hear...I am afraid I can only say that you should see a doctor...it's the kind of thing that needs the tests only a doctor can do. You would be doing it for all of us because we all need to know if vaping can have any bad effects on anyone.

It could be anything. It could have something to do with vaping, or it could be entirely unrelated. Despite your hatred of doctors, you do need to go see one. Do you have these symptoms only when you vape? Do you have them still after not vaping? Seriously, you need to get checked out.

You should go to a doctor.

It sounds like you are sensitive to something in the vapor. I'm not kidding. People have expressed allergies to PG. You also sound like your really dehydrated. Try a walk in. Do a wal mart or Walgreen's wal-in if you have to. Your describing something that could be serious if you keep on this way. It might not be the ecig. The ecig might be exasperating another issue you have, though.

I did for the first two weeks or so of coming off analogs. But things have improved a lot since then. Never underestimate the power of withdrawl. Shocked the hell out of me.

But, in this persons case, I'd say better safe than sorry.

There's is also something else I think I should post ,though i really didn't want to. Because i know what some people are like on these boards ,alarmist's and doomsayers and such like . I find myself being real supporter of e-cigs ,they have done for me something amazing, something that nothing else has been able to do (tried gum, patches the lot) after over 30 years of heavy smoking I have been free of cigs for over 4 months (bar 1 cig in Jan)also recently I have made great strides in reducing nicotine intake as well ,It's also been much easier/and more fun than any previous attempts at quiting and thats why I want e-cigs to be easily and cheaply available for other's as well.

.
BooBoo let me tell you a short story ,it's probably not related to your problems.
Last Dec and early Jan this year i had been vaping for 6 weeks and had been perfectly fine .Then in Jan I fell ill with what felt like a terrible throat infection and my muscles felt all weak with heavy breathing and tiredness ,i didn't eat or vape for a couple of
days ,after 2 days though i had almost recovered .To me it felt like some kind of severe flu type infection ,and theres alot of those type of things about in winter.
Anyway I started to vape again with a different flavor/liquid and was doing great and the episode was forgotten .Then in Feb i went back to the liquid that i had been vaping before from Jan and within 48 hrs .Bam! Exactly the same happened again with exactly same symptoms (To much of a coincidence.? you tell me) .Needless to say I tipped that stuff down the grid and cleaned/sterilized all my ecig stuff to be safe .I cant say with certainty that that bottle of e-liquid had something wrong with it and was responsible but this is something I should perhaps post for others to keep an eye out for .I have been vaping away and perfectly fine since then

Hygiene is perhaps the greatest concern for me when it comes to e-cig usage and e-liquid usage/manufacture .PG and glycerol are like basic sugars and any bacteria that get in your e-liquid or on your e-cig wicks are going to multiply fast .And since we can't help but get some of this stuff in our mouths it should be treated with the same hygiene care as foodstuffs.
Regards . (ps .I sent the supplier ,who doesn't actually frequent these boards a strong
email stating my concerns.)

What kind of sick?

I bought a bottle of VG from cvs, found it in the skincare isle and it said glycerin 95.5% pure. Well it tasted sweet and the vapor was great but brother GAG it gave me a pounding headache, made me feel numb and gernerally nauseous.

On the other hand, I have had no ill effects using PG

Try scowling your eyesbrows and holding it for like 5 minutes. that's how it made me feel.

Thanks smog, this is the kind of response I am looking for.

I'm not looking for armchair diagnosis or medical advice. I don't need a doctor to tell me to stop doing something that's making me sick. That part is obvious, and the only reason I am vaping is because I was too sick to keep smoking. I very likely have to give up vaping too, but don't want to. All's I wanted to know is if I'm the only one here who can't take it.

You never mentioned the nicotine levell you are using.

Clinical description
After oral ingestion of nicotine, signs and symptoms of nicotine poisoning mimic those for nerve agent or organophosphate poisoning and typically include excess oral secretions, bronchorrhea, diaphoresis, vomiting (common, especially among children), ........, abdominal cramping, confusion, and convulsions. Although tachycardia and hypertension are common, bradycardia and hypotension might also occur as a result of a severe poisoning

CDC | Case Definition: Nicotine Poisoning

I've not experienced any of those symptoms from vaping, although I am fairly new to it.

See a doctor, hon. And you don't have to bring up the vaping right away. The odds are your symptoms aren't related, but it's possible. I have kidney issues, and your symptoms sound similar to problems I have when I'm dehydrated. But a doctor needs to see you and make those decisions. Get healthy.

^This.

Me too. I do get dehydrated when I vape. I've started drinking more water - just straight water (because I am usually a coffee fiend). Vaping dries me out more than analogs did. Maybe I just never really noticed it before because there were so many other messed up things about analogs?
