I used an m401 for 2 months, with only 2 attys, and I lost one. I used one atty, more or less without problems, for 2 months.

Then I switched to a Mako using 510 attys maybe a week and a half ago. Out of the pack of 5 attys I got, 2 of them were nearly worthless out of the box, and the other 3 are slowly starting to get crappy. What is the deal with these things? The flavor is better, and the vapor is more volumous, but I don't know if there are enough perks here to make it worth going through $40 worth of attys every two weeks.

Any thoughts on why I'm having so many freaking problems? Any thoughts on what attys are sturdy enough to make it worth investing in them?

Hello, Sorry can't tell what the problem is exactly, but the main causes that attys perform bad are either too much juice in your cart, or too much in the atty if you drip...
Also, if your cart is dry, the atty just burns up....I have been using 510 attys with my Ego for three months, and except for the LR attys, I have not had any major problems....Got them from Cignots...but that shouldn't matter...Everyone has about the same type of 510 attys....
Finally, for me, if an atty lasts 10-14 days for $7.00, that is a bargain for me...I expect to pay about $21.00 a month for attys,,,,3 per month...and add about $30.00 for juice a month, that is around $50.00 a month to vape....Seeing I spent $43.00 a week for analogs, I am ahead after about one week...But, that is another post....Again, hope your problems work out...and Enjoy the Expericence...

After 4 months of burning through 510 attys, I now get a minimum of 3-4 weeks out of them.

This is what I do.

I use the dripping method (stuffing carts was, for me, the biggest killer of attys).

I blow them out at least every other day.

I always put a drop or two in the atty when I'm done using it for the day and cap it overnight.

Once a week, I stick them in a cup of boiling hot water and let it sit for an hour.

I rinse it out thoroughly, blow out the excess and let it dry overnight.

Then reprime it by adding three drops and letting it sit for a minute.

This method and regiment has saved me TONS of money.

This is even working for me on my LR atty's.
