It's supposed to do that with no tank. With a tank on, if it does the same, either you have a bad coil, a bad connection at the center pin, or your resistance is too low.

No, if you fire the 150 with no atty on the device it will say "Check Atomizer"...not "Low Resistance"...being "Low Resistance" is not a normal error when no atty is attached, it almost sounds like a bad chip IMO. **Unless the OP is talking about the 150 TC device...I am not sure about the errors on that device.**

Did a little research. If you're getting a "Low Resistance" with no atomizer attached, it sounds like a device issue. Even the 150 TC will show "Check Atomizer" , not "Low Resistance" if you fire the device without an atomizer. Below is a screen snip from the 150 TC devices manual.
