I ordered another mech, the sigelei #23. I read somewhere that the switch design is a little different, similar but no spring in there. I can't find that info at the moment otherwise I would post a link. I will send the #20 back as soon as I get it and I should only be out a couple extra bucks, and that is if I have to pay return shipping. Not sure if I can just refuse the package and the vendor will accept that for a return/refund.

Its too bad because I love the look of the #20, but I would be thinking about that little switch spring constantly as I am vaping on it. Normally I don't worry about stuff like this, but being an engineer I can see that very little thought was put into the design. They could have easily put in a beefier spring to reduce its temperature while current is passing through and no one would have had a problem. Instead they drilled out big holes in the sides to passively cool it.

To all who own the #20 or are thinking about buying one, just read the info around the web and decide for yourself. If it doesn't bother you, go for it or keep on using it. There's a good chance you wont ever have a problem, and its your money and your equipment so its your choice.

Of course you will or at least should have to pay for return shipping, I think it'd be kinda rude to refuse package and expect the vendor to eat the shipping just cause you changed your mind after they shipped it. They should at the least deduct the shipping from your refund if you do that I would think. Anyway you hear horror stories alot when it comes to some mods and I find rarely do they end up being a big deal, although the sigelei #19 was a misfiring piece of sticky poo poo that someone forgot to flush. Anyway just my 2 cents, but what do I know? Im only the smartest dude ever born.

Sorry, that one is plain ugly to me.
With a little cleaning and Spring change, I am very satisfied with my 2 original #20's. I don't run them with sub ohm coils and have no heating issues.
One now sports an Ithaka, Kick and 18350 running (X) wicks and single 1.8ohm coil. Excellent production in a rugged small package.

I just want to let everyone know I eventually got a refund from the vendor. It took a few weeks, several emails and facebook messages, and I was about to call them when it finally got processed. I understand they are likely a very small business handling tons of orders, dealing with overseas suppliers and pre-orders, but it still was quite a hassle. I didn't get shipping refunded, but I wasn't expecting it anyway. USPS will return unopened mail for free, so that was pretty nice.

Of course, the better-designed version of the #20 came out shortly after all this. I've been happy with the #23 but its just not nearly as nice looking. The voltage drop is a bit more than my KTS, but I'm not too concerned with that.
