Well, i own one for a week or so now.
The look and feel of a device is great. It is pocket friendly unit and for that all kudos to Sig. Except for occasional missfire i haven't had any problems with mine yet, but i have noticed couple flaws in the chip design so let's bring them on.
Firstly, it does drain batteries much faster then for example Sigelei 100w Plus. I am not into TC all that much, but i know how it should be. Sig 213 goes nice with Nickel coils, but with anything else temp is about to be useless. Constant adaptation of settings and different vape every time i press the switch render this device useless with anything else except for Nickel and Kanthal. batteries in power mode are draining some 30% faster then in 100W plus, and as they go lower, even on regular 30W setup, vape feeling changes as they drain below 30%.
Preheat on kanthal does not work as it should. After the screen goes down, first draw will be without preheat, and then ever next one while the screen is on will have preheat. I would much more like if it's vice versa because of those fused claptons and the way they cool down when not in use so first heating up takes a while. For now i am mixed feelings about this one. If i was to say thumb up or down, i really couldn't give any thumbs. Yes device works, and there's a lot of nice options to play with, but on the other side there is just so many flaws with the device as well...
And yes, the biggest flaw is their advertisin on 213W. The most i was able to get out of device was 165W and that lasted for 2-3 seconds. Why are they doing that?

I love the look and feel, Light weight, and advertised functions. Warning (mini rant Incoming) My problem is that too many of the functions either do not work as advertised, work properly or at all. I cant give a thumbs up to devices that I have to use a "Work Around" any more. There are ALOT of devices that people should not be giving thumbs up to. These are just 2 recent issues. 1) The deck access design of the Moonshot was awful. Yes I own one. Yes I can get a good vape. IF they designed the deck to screw in and not the juice ring it would be awesome. 2) Most Ijoy products drill the set screw holes too deep and cause the wires to be cut. They use to just drill the hole all the way through ! We should not have to put up with things like this. I put 2, 5mm Notch coils in my Ijoy Limitless RDTA and 2 of the leads got cut off! Can I work around these things? Yes. If I use heavy gauge wire, claptons or barely tighten the set screw. Should we have to ? No. But because so called "reviewers" avoid or just don't know any better and don't tell you these things and will even give a thumbs up to keep the free train coming. Throw a few Subjective cons in to make it legit. Reviewing a TC device and never testing the TC just running it in power. etc... Every time we as vapers accept this type of stuff and settle, the manufacturer wont fix these issues because they got their thumbs up, made their money and are on to the next. I'm grateful for people sharing these problems to warn others. (mini rant over) I agree with everything you said except its a thumbs down. Of course it works in power mode, it has a battery, button and 510 connector. We need to stop settling. I really hope they fix this device. Some sites and reviewers are saying this is firmware upgradeable. I cant find any documentation on that. Can you please try something on your device? Go in to the Pre heat mode when the device is asleep and tell me what happens. Thanks for sharing your findings.

Asleep - preheat mode - jumbled screen. :grr:

Sadly, I was unable to get all three wire types I tried in TFR mode to work. Currently only one kinda-sorta works. Ti mode and all the TCR modes are broken. I don't vape in Power/Wattage mode at all and surely did not buy this mod for that. :-x

I'd also like some official confirmation that this thing is firmware upgradeable otherwise I just purchased a $100 pet rock.

The jumbled screen happened to me just now, what I didn't realize is that it was indeed asleep when it happened. And now to read that TC doesn't work properly man oh man this is not good. It isn't like this was a cheap mod for me, I hardly ever spend this much for a mod. Come on Sigelei make it right!!

Please take a moment to let Sigelei know what is going on. warranty@ci-garette.com Thanks.

Anyone having difficulty locating one of these. I have a new one for sale in the classified section.

Vape NW has them, but they bundle them with LG batteries, and take a slight "vig" on top of that.

I just bought my second Sigelei 213 from Vape NW. They deliver as promised, and the batteries are great.

AND the preheat does not work when coming out of sleep as someone already stated. Only when the screen is on ...!? Why? The list is growing on this one. :(

Yep. I just want them to fix these problems so I can have the mod I paid for. We just need to let Sigelei know what's going on. Thanks for sharing your findings.

Yea, I will hit them up, but I can't remember a new mod being released with so many issues off the bat and it's from a reputable company. Makes me wonder how this happened. This is unlike Sigelei.
The only thing I can think of is they wanted to rush to market so they can get 3 months of people buying their mod before the U.S. regulations start kicking in officially.
I mean the mod works because I use power "mode" but these other reports of TC not working properly is inexcusable.

Sigelei needs to, hopefully, push an update or do a RECALL.

Agreed ! I just cant find any solid evidence that this thing can even be firmware upgradeable. Sellers and reviewers say it can but I can not find any official documentation. I contacted them over facebook in a PM and they wouldn't answer me. Just kept dancing around the subject and stopped responding.

This is going to be my vapocalypse mod. I'll stop buying when I hit 4 of them. I am not having any issues and do not use the functions that apparently others are using.

I'll try out some SS 316L when I get my Twitted Messes SQ bases(bought two more). I'm not envisioning any issues but I'll let everyone know either way.

Looking fwd to a pbusardo review.

Are you guys saying the preheat FUNCTION doesn't work out of sleep, or just the preheat menu looks weird (it's not really jumbled, and still works just fine, it's just that sometimes the menu doesn't "black out" the info that's normally there, giving a jumbled appearance).

I think what they are saying is that the screen turns into jumbo mumbo when they go into preheat.

@Tommy-Chi When is pbusardo going to do a review?

I just ordered my second Black/Black. The first one had no QC issues, so I'm crossing my fingers. Awesome mod.

If you would (and EVERYONE included) try entering the preheat menu from being asleep. Did your screen garble?

Secondly, if you use any of the TC modes and are thinking your getting a fine TC vape, try reducing the temperature set point to the minimum (200F) and take a few pulls. Are you getting vapor? Try holding the fire button for 4-5sec before taking a pull. Are you getting vapor? On mine I'll still get some vapor at 200F and if I hold the fire button long enough, I can blow clouds @ 200F!

I'd like to hear that others actually got a functional unit, however I'm guessing that some percentage of units will fail one or all tests outlined above. The folks using Power mode and/or are inexperienced in using TC mode might be thinking the mod actually work (which it might) when it is actually failing miserably like mine is.

Right on. If it looks like this, just so people know, it is still readable and functioning. This guy's is set to 213 for .05 seconds.

Not saying that it shouldn't be fixed, just that it's a pretty minor gripe.

As far as TC functionality, I've no idea, I just use power.

    1. tried entering TC preheat adjustment from sleep. No garble

    2. not blowing clouds at 200F with SS but still getting SOME vapor

I believe I have a functional unit. So far no misfires, no screen garble, no cloud chucking at 200F with dual coil SS. Lets hope this doesn't jinx my unit.

@Tommy-Chi When is pbusardo going to do a review?

I don't use preheat and never will, but I have around 2000 ft of SS in various gauges so while it is not necessary, I'd really like to be able to use SS 316L setting. It is one of the reasons that I bought the device.

pbusardo is usually on top of the scene. I just asked him to do a review:

Phil, the community really needs you to test the Sigelei 213. There seems to be diverging opinion on function of preheat mode, TC, and screens scrambling. A solid review by you would be great as you are a trusted resource. I have a Sigelei 213 and one on order, due to arrive next week. I've got extra Twisted Messes SQ RDAs on order as well to give TC a try. I've got more than 2000 ft of SS 316L and bought the device to do TC. It's not make or break for me if it does not do TC, b/c SS is the way to go in my opinion but TC working as advertised would be really nice for me. I'll be doing my own testing next week sometime, but you've got more experience in wringing these mods out than I do. Thanks!
