Just curious not an owner but was considering before I read this thread. How many places does the TCR setting go.Like the SX is 5 VTCmini is 4.
In practice the joyetech/Wismec devices go to five decimals though. The xxxx of them is actually 0.0xxxx. I believe the tcr of the 213 is the same.

Ok here's what I have found out about some of the issues. If you press fire button exactly 13 seconds after it was last pressed it will misfire. This is exactly when the screen goes off.

If you press up and fire at exactly the same time from a blank screen you will get the garbled screen. If you press up a fraction of a second first it won't glitch

My SS316L coils work well in ss, tcr and tfr so long as you manually lock the resistance 0.01ohm's higher than its initial reading.

The tcr value you put in is different to other devices. 0.0005 works well, this is the closest you can get to the 0.00049 sigelei's conversion chart gives us.

Tfr m1 matches up perfectly with steam engines tfr for 316/316L.

At this point I can pretty confidently say the unit is NOT firmare upgradable. Nowhere has Sigelei ever claimed that it is! I think most vendors/reviewers just assumed it was because of the usb port. This is strictly for Sigeleis 2a balanced charging (use at your own risk). The included usb cable is not even capable of transferring data. Any hopes of glitches being fixed by an upgrade is just wish full thinking on our part.

Pretty much sums up the entire thread in a nutshell.

I don't think it is the same. Sigelei's conversion for for 316l is 0.00049. If I put 0.0049 into my tcr it basically works like power mode. If I put in 0.0005 it works similar to the default ss316 setting.

Lol so much for Sigelei's more accurate way of doing tc. I think it genuinely would be a more accurate way if we were given 5 decimal places to do it with, but we're not :-(

From reading the thread it would appear you're spot on. I should add that I don't have a 213, and I'm starting to be reeeeally happy I didn't order one. As for the tcr, Sigelei's 0.00049 simply doesn't make any sense.

We will be camping Memorial day so the 2A charge may come in handy. Here's my current fleet of 2x18650 mods:

Funny how the IPV4S dwarfs all the others.

Tbh I'm absolutely loving mine since I've worked out the problems and how to avoid them. If I was you I would probably wait for the Fuchai version though. Half the price without the glitches and firmware upgradable (I think) that's the real kick in the teeth to us 213 owners.

With all these problems, and Sigelei's response to them, I'm pretty much turned off this mod.

Has sigelei ever released a mod thats firmware upgradable?

Still liking the mod and hating the company so no more $$$ from this consumer.

Yeah, I was trying to convince myself that the glass was half full, but now I just think the glass contains urine.

The screen has a noticeable buzzing when on, also on yours? You have to hold it to your ears so not an issue, just noticed that.
I can't hear anything on mine, but then again 27 years of rock concerts and extremely loud metal music doesn't do anything for your hearing.

There's no mention of a firmware upgrade on Sigelei's site for the Fuchai 213 either.

No, I'm not sure I'd believe it even if there was!

With the help of this thread I'm now pretty much able to avoid all the glitches and have got mine performing really well. Tbh I haven't got a mod or atty that doesn't have some issues. My rx200 and cuboid both have the following issues. 510 connector is a disgrace any atty with a longish centre pin won't screw down flush (this can't be fixed with a firmware update lol.) If I put on a new atty with a similar resistance to the previous one and try to lock the new resistance it will default back to the previous attie's, this is really annoying!

Over all I think the 213 is better than the joytech mods I have. Twice the price better????

I have to agree, it's a real shame it's not exactly what they claimed out the box and the lack of updates is criminal.

Although how many vtc mini, cuboid and even rx200 users are out there that haven't upgraded once and are still happy. What have these upgrades really offered other than an unnecessary jump in watts and a few screen changes, granted some useful but even the latest joyetech updates are ooh you can put a pretty logo on!

But as long as nothing goes wrong on mine it's all the mod I need, pre heat is fantastic, TC presets work a treat for me I never use TCR, size, weight and build quality far better than any other dual 18650.
