ok, kind of a noob question. I *REALLY* want to get this and the new triton tank... I am trying to figure out which battery would be best/last longest. I have an old IPV2 right now, and barely go over 30w, so I doubt I'd need all that 75w power, more interested in the temp control aspect... these are the specs
 • Accommodates a single 18650 sized battery (not included)
 • Variable Wattage Range: 5.0 - 75.0 watts
 • Output Voltage Range: 0.5 - 8.5 volts
 • Battery Voltage Range: 3.2 - 4.2 volts
I did watch the video, and saw in the instructions he was holding that they recommend the sigelei 30A or 35A which are both 2500mAh. Should that suffice?
Yeah, those would work. You could probably get 'better' batteries for cheaper though. Sony VTCs have resurfaced, or 25Rs and HE4s are great for the price.

It passes the dry cotton test.. and it looks like it doesn't singe the cotton at all like most other TC mods do:

he didnt do a burn test. 401F is probably far too low. He has no idea what he is doing or talking about really...He should have increased temp by say 20F and repeated until he saw it srat to color the cotton. That woukld have been informative. This test is total garbage. Some of these reviewers really just shouldnt bother...

lunar- ALL TC mods work in regular/power mode(with kanthal) as well as TC mode. no matter what you can always vape with kanthal coils/wire builds and any mod will work just fine. as a matter of fact, when a TC mod says it's a "75 watt" device that figure is for kanthal in regular(non-TC)mode. you will find their power for TC builds is a lot less, generally around 50 watts or so. for most vapors that is more than enough-to repeat, ALL mods that have TC can also vape in regular vv, or vw, or both(depending on the mod) so you can always vape with them even if you discover TC is not for you. for me, TC is much better because i have found that ni200 coils taste MUCH better than kanthal coils(YMMV). for me, there is no metallic taste with TC while even my best non-TC mod(sx mini s class) has that metallic taste, while even the cheapest TC mod with ni200 coils doesn't have it at all. that is why i am switching all my mods over to TC- just a much better taste....

go one step further and move to Ti and the metallic taste will disappear forever!!!!!! :)

just received mine from element vape($69 since raised)-what a solid feeling device even with 2 magnetic doors!you would never know it has magnetic doors they fit so perfectly. unlike my hb40 which always has a slight rattle these never make a sound. having seen the reviews and read the manual before , i put a bttery in , put on a topper(anyvape furytank with ni200coil) and instantly have some smooth, dense vape that tastes as good as any i have ever vaped. this fits so well in my hand and feels like a solid piece of aluminum. mine came with the silicone sleeve but it looks and feels better without it. the screen is plenty bright-dims about 10 seconds after i fire it and goes out completely after a few more seconds after it dims. the main fire button has no sharp edges and never fails to fire- sigelei nailed that perfectly and all the buttons work as designed with no issues.
all-in-all this is one fine mod and i can see it taking its place as one of the best TC mods i have- we will see how it holds up to some long -term heavy use. if it is like all the other sigelei devices i have owned, i am sure it will prove to be a steady, solid device with no issues. definitely glad i made the choice to purchase and now if the ipvd2 comes in and works as well i will have had a good couple of months of purchasing which should tamper my buying itch for a little while anyway........

i have tried both ni and ti with my evic vt and either one gets rid of that metallic taste-i found little or no difference between the two as far as taste goes- having loaded up on ni200 coils i don't see the need to rush out and buy a bunch of ti coils- the ni work just fine for my taste and both ensure i will never mess with kanthal coils again...

thank you for specifics... the mod I have was piffed to me, and it had batteries already, so I haven't yet had to replace them, and holy cow, there are so many to choose from. lol

edit: and I really don't wanna blow myself up

I've had mine for a week now and loving everything about it. It's pretty much the perfect device for me except.......mine seems to overread the resistance in kanthal mode by about 0.04 ohms. Does yours behave the same or do I have a faulty device?

Definitely so many batteries to choose from...it can drive you nuts. Sigelei don't make batteries so theirs are re-wrapped. I'm not 100% sure but for example their 30A batteries are probably around 12.5A Continuous Discharge but since you mentioned you rarely go over 30W then you'll be fine as others have mentioned. For example, with a 0.5ohm coil @ 30W you'll be pulling approx 8A. Not sure how much you paid for your Sigelei batteries but as @ThunderDan mentioned you can find better deals. LG's HE4s for example are 20A continuous (35A Max I believe)...I've been using mine for a few months and they work great. Samsung 25Rs seem to be a preferred battery too although I currently don't own any. Here's a great deal for LG HE4 batteries (two for $9.95 with free shipping): LG HE4 18650 2500mah 20amp Rechargeable Battery BOGO

Picked up a Sig 75w from a local shop today, so far I'm liking it quite a bit. Performance seems great, I've been swapping attys between the Sig and my SX Mini and running at the same temp seeing how they compare and it seems the chip is doing a great job of regulating the temperature, hard to make a direct comparison since I'm not sure how the watts on the sig are comparing to the joules on the sx but the vape seems just as good.

Buttons feel a bit cheap, one of my side panels didn't seat properly and had a slight rattle, not sure if it was slightly bent or if the locating pins weren't pressed far enough into the panel, but I couldn't leave well enough alone and pressed the locating pin too hard and made a slight bulge in the outside of the panel. Hoping we can get replacement panels eventually (especially in different colors/finishes)

The display model at the shop had absolutely perfectly fitting panels so I'm assuming it's just luck of the draw (much like getting a straight 510 on an IPV mini) but I thought it was worth mentioning.

I love the screen, it's nice and simple and all the numbers are large. It's really nice being able to adjust temp without going into a menu system too. Overall I think it's a nice mod, I picked it up as an out-of-the-house backup for my SX mini so it should fit that role well. I think if both my battery doors fit nice I would have been super excited but that soured me a bit, I still like it a lot though!

you know they are making sony vtc5 batteries again and anybody who tells you otherwise is not telling the truth-and anybody who tries to get too much for them is well, you know.... i think they are still the best battery for vaping and they are worth the $10 or so legitimate dealers are getting for them. the brown lg's at 3000mah are worth trying but so far nothing beats the sony's in my book.i saw where someone had tested the new sony's and they are actually slightly better than the old ones-they are still the best batteries and you can't go wrong getting genuine sony batteries for vaping.....

can't tell you what happens in the power mode-i use this strickly for the TC part of the device. in fact, i have given away all my kanthal coils and strickly vape using the ni200 coils now. i can't stand the metallic taste i get from kanthal - TC gives me a much smoother and better tasting vape . i am sure the power side works fine in my device and it is always there for an emergency in case i run out of ni200 coils i could scrounge up a kanthal coil somewhere and vape on that(of course, i never intend for that to happen). if your device is .4 too high on the power side can't you just adjust how much watts you are using and vape that way?....

That's what I have to do of course but it is still very annoying moving from device to device.....especially with my ocd :)

I have just recieved my sigelei 75W, put on my Nautilus Mini with Ni200 coils. It is vaping great, but I have one issue: the driptip is getting very very hot after only 3 puffs (to the point I burn my lips if I am not carefull)....even when I put it to only 20W/120C. I have tried al air flow options, but no (to little) difference
It is a very short RVS driptip so that could be part of the problem (I did try a longer one but that had the same issue (I only have metal driptips)). But I think even with plastic driptip this would be an issue.
Anybody got any clue why this is happening, anyone with the same experience?
