It's a brand new item. It looks like they are cloning the Kicklet. They don't seem to have them yet, but Vaportek seems to get the Sigelei stuff before everyone else in the US does.

The Kicklet is a very nice piece, and very well made, but it costs more than a Sigelei-K & one of their mechanicals combined!

So I brushed the steel tube, and polished the brass (also shortened the throw of the switch) on my 8W. The brushed finish looks great, but I'm not terribly happy with the brass bits. From a distance they look great, but up close, there are tons of scratches. It's especially noticeable on the bottom button, presumably because the polishing motion wasn't uniform.

Here are my results:

Now I assume that the issue is that my polishing compound (white No. 7) is too abrasive for brass, it being a softer metal.

Does anyone have experience with a better brass polish?

I use a hard felt wheel with white rouge followed with another wheel using jeweler's rouge at LOW speed (important). The brass comes out like glass:

The key is using a HARD felt wheel and relatively low speed...I use one mounted on a bench grinder, but the little hard-felt bobs that come with the Dremel work fine also...they just take a little more time. Don't use too much rouge...you just need a small amount on the wheel. They work the best when you see them actually turn a brass color - that's when they are at the optimum point for smoothing out the finish. An older wheel also works better than a new one for brass & copper.

Good luck

Thanks for the advice!

I ended up throwing the mod in a drill and shined the brass bits up with jewler's rouge and a soft cloth. It's not perfect, but I imagine it's about as close as it gets. Nice mirror finish, but up close you can still see scratches. It's less of a big deal now as they're all now uniform and barely visible to the naked eye.

brasso works great. also, I noticed some lines crisscross lines on your 8w's button from polishing abrasives. i'd disassemble the switch, shove the button in a spinning powertool such as a dremmel or other drill and polish it while it's rotating. the lines will be circular radiating from the center of the button, keep in mind that polishing the center of the button is going to be harder than polishing the outer edge so start at the center first... ANNNNNNNND someone beat me to it lol.

I have a #8 and it feels like I'm getting a huge voltage drop. Even with a fresh battery and 0.9ohm coil it's not hitting that well. I did the spring delete and it helped a little. I have the Nzonic head as well.

Any suggestions?

I have a #8 also and got it working pretty good. Followed http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/rader2146/4193-modding-sigelei-8-maximum-performance.html I didn't do the spring delete but used the spring from the link and also used a copper shim for the switch. My #8 is my dedicated rsst mod :D

Ok. Calling all Sigelei experts. I'm looking for a top side button mech on the cheap side with not much, if any mods needed to it. I would prefer if it could hold a 650 and a kick, but I'm not seeing that by Sigelei. Button needs to be easy to push (wife's athritis) and consistant and safe. I can do minor moding, but I don't have any of the cools tools.

Suggestions please? I'm seeing the #20, #24, (I read 24 can be modded to hold a 650 and a kick?), #13 ???

Others???? Thanks!

edit: Preferably ones that have had problems and been fixed by Sigelei. (glue, etc..)

I'm interested in using my Sigelei #19 with a kick. Does anybody know any extension tubes that might fit?

I believe the #8 18650 piece would fit but I don't want to have to buy an entire mod just for that piece. If anybody has one of those little tubes around they they could let go of let me know. I'd happily trade or purchase.

I'd recommend the #24. The #20 is a hot mess and the #13 is not great in topside. I saw another (not sigelei) on vaporjoes at fasttech that was topside with some interesting patterns
looks like it might have a locking button unlike the #24.

That's where I saw them! Thanks Justin! I'll have to see what I can find out about them. I have been narrowing it down to the #24 though. Folks that are using 24s, please tell me what you think.

I get the best results from working my way from ~600 grit sandpaper to ~1500 grit sandpaper before polishing Once you get the stock finish off you tend to just expose the marks from machining and it really takes sandpaper to smooth those out before polishing.

I posted this before, but here it is again. The Dremel Abrasive Brush takes off the finishes down to bare brass without leaving too many scratches and then you can polish it to a nice gleaming shine with a polishing wheel.

This little baby works great in removing the chrome, then the copper, and down to bare brass.

Vaporteck was supposed to be getting some longer tubes for the #19 to run a Kick/Sigelei-K with 18650s, but I haven't seen them yet.
I run mine with a Kick & 18500 battery & they work perfectly.

Thanks for the tip, I'll send them an email asking about it. I'm assuming you mean Vaportekusa?

I don't happen to own an 18500 battery but I do have one on the way!
