Sigelei ZMax gets hot at battery cap

I was wondering if anyone might have some insight on a problem I've had with my sigelei ZMax (latest version) since I had purchased it in January.

Every so often, it gets very hot at the bottom edge of the battery cap - and occasionally, I'll get a shock.
The problem isn't consistent - but annoying - and uncomfortable.

I use Panasonic 18650 batteries. I typically vape at 8 watts.

Make sure the spring is seated straight in the bottom cap... I dropped my Provari and the spring shorted boy did the bottom cap get hot

Thank you for the suggestion SmaBob! You might have nailed the problem.
The fact is that I have dropped it a few times - and the seeing as how the problem is sporadic could be the result of the spring.
When I contacted the vendor (Vapor Valley), he expressed concern, and suggested that I find a replacement cap.

Fortunately, I caught a great deal today on the new telescopic Sigelei, and ordered one, just in case.

I notice mine getting hot as wel was wondering if nolox on the threads would make the point where the cap meets more conductive and eliminate the load that may be causing the heat

Looks like I'm not the only one - but I get the feeling that if there's a problem, it isn't widespread - otherwise, we would have heard more about.
Please let me know if your solution works.
