Sigelei zmax problem help please

My friends sigelei zmax constantly sayd short every time you fire it, with or without anything attached. Tried with multiple batteries and both battery configurations. Any ideas?

Not enough info. He/she may have shorted it, or it may have shorted itself. I'd suggest he contact the vendor if its newish.

Kiwi is right , I would try to clean it but that's the best you could do short of dissembling the unit.

Is it showing 9.9?

It worked fine then quit working completely randomly, it says short not 9.9

I had problems with mine once and it needed to be cleaned. It didn't say short but the ohms where jumping around. I just cleaned the 510 connection, which was filthy, and it started working fine after that. I would give a cleaning a try.

What I meant is you can't tell just from this what may have caused it. He/she may have shorted it because the attachment shorted, or it may have shorted itself. Have other attachments been tried with it? If it still says short with other attachments, its shorted, contact the vendor.

I had the same problem a couple weeks ago. Got hold of the vender and they sent me a new one. same exact problem. Said "short" with or without anything attached.

That could be a broken wire or wire off the center pin. I had that problem with an old vmax. I just resoldered the wire

Exactly same issue with my Sigelei Zmax V3. I am also getting "SHORT" everytime i fire, with or without any cartos/tanks/clearos reagrdless of 501 or ego. Tried 8-10 diffr cleros/cartos which seem to work on my Vamo. Tried different batteries as well and what not.

Sometimes it used to show low laod/short and usually replacing the clearo head etc or loosening the clearo on Zmax would fix it as that was prolly coil short. W/o any clearo it used to show 9.9 ohms.
Now looks like something on the Mod itself got short as it keeps showing "short' even without anything attached..

may be a bad ground connection. I heard someone with a similar problem needed to clean the bottom cap and tupe threads with nolex. vasline I heard works as well.
