I'm looking at either a zmax or vamo, but I was leaning toward the zmax due to the look. I know the big difference everyone notes on the V5 is that it can charge a cell phone which I don't really need. But it also appears to me that the V5 now has a redone fire button display, but I can't find any confirm/deny on this. It looks like the V5 shows Battery power, puff count, and a Res/Time/Volt. The V3 looks like it only showed 1 piece of info on fire. Can someone clear this up for me?

Hi gm and welcome. I think you 're confusing the Vamo V5 with iTaste MVP--Vamo won't charge your cell phone.

Vamo V5 | IN STOCK | - Craving Vapor

Innokin iTaste MVP V2.0

If you're looking at the Zmax, I recommend the sigelei Zmax, not the SmokTech; it comes with similar features to Vamo 5--an OLED display, a dual 510/eGo connection, vv/vw etc.

Vamo and Zmax come with replaceable batteries, the MVP has a proprietary internal battery rated at a whopping 2600 mAh.

Thanks for the reply. Here is a video on YT showing the Zmax V5 with the display I'm talking about. I've looked at V3 vids but its hard to tell if the Zmax V3 has the same display or not.

When I change the battery in my Segelei Zmax V3 I go to the LCD Display menu setting and select battery. That gives me the battery voltage each time I vape. The V3 does not have the pictorial battery meter, but it's preference. Voltage tells me more than a graphic, although it would be nice to have multiple data points in the display, especially if you could pick which 3 or 4 you want to see.

be careful if considering buying a black zmax v5; i ordered one for my son's xmas gift, & unlike the ss one i got for myself (which i LOVE), the black one didn't have a removable cover on the top even though it LOOKS like it is. & i have NOT seen this distinction made on ANY vendor's site selling 'em. i destroyed the finish on it trying to unscrew/remove the top, & i'm feeling kinda duped...

Sounds like you got a fake or something. My gold one has the removable cover and I think they all do, but you should call segelei to make sure.

The Sigelie Zmax V3 and V5 OLED displays are different. V5 will show a puff counter and will display battery charge as a full/empty battery symbol all of the time. It also shows a puff counter which is absent from V3. V3 shows battery charge numerically in volts. With V3 this may be shown by hitting Menu Item #4 or by hitting the fire button: depending on how you program your V3 settings from the menu. Yes, V3 shows only one piece of info on the OLED display at a time. The V5 display shows multiple information.

All newer production V3s and V5s feature the removable top cap which is easy to ID visually.

There is a flange visible between the top cap and the main body on newer production V3s and V5s. Here is an older V3 and a new one purchased in November. The new Sigelei V3 with removable top cap is shown on top.
