Silly question about posting.

If this question has been answered already I apologize. I tried searching and couldn't find the answer I was looking for.

I now have 13 posts in various threads of interest but I'm still not allowed to post anywhere but the new members section. Is it something that unlocks automatically, or a button that that admin presses on thier end.

I'm not trying to be pushy or anything there are a bunch of threads I would like to post in and can't at the moment.

You do need to wait for the servers to update. That happens from what I understand once an hour at 25 minutes past the top of the hour. If all that has happened and You still can't post outside of the new members forum, I don't know why. But I'm sure one of the mods will be along soon, and they will look into it.

You need to log out and log back in again after the server has updated, which I thought happened every 15 or 20 minutes.

ETA: given the time frame the server has probably already updated. You just need to log out and back in to pick up the new user privileges.

Even after you reach the number of posts that opens the rest of the site, the server cron jobs have to update your account. This happens at 25 minutes after each hour. Generally, there's no need to log out and log back in, however, if you find your account hasn't updated properly it's one of the first things we'll have you try.

MoonLit_Water linked a very important thread for new users which has some good information on what unlocks on ECF as you post.

I just looked at your account, and it's confirmed. Your 15th post was made last night, so you should have no problems posting in any forum now. (For most forums it's 5 posts, but there's a bug, yet to be found, that holds the APV and Negative Supplier Reviews at 15, for some reason).

Let us know if you have any further issues.
