E-Cigarettes Toxic Too

Totally amazing at the depths some will stoop at the deception.

"In their ever-diabolical efforts to sell their dangerous wares, cigarette manufacturers and marketers have created a new smoke screen... electronic cigarettes, which are touted as a safe alternative to smoking."

And it was written by a doctor too and called out by Dr Michael Siegel in his recent blog article The Rest of the Story: Tobacco News Analysis and Commentary

Amazing.

Also curious was the fact that manufacturers chose to produce the e-cigarettes in a variety of flavors, from chocolate to cherry in addition to the traditional tobacco flavor. (Note: The FDA just banned flavoring in actual cigarettes.) Though of course older folks may like these, too, they seem especially appealing to kids

So, the older I get, the less I will enjoy chocolate and cherry flavor. I really wish people would take a second to think about this statement before they make it. It gets used all the time, and is completely absurd. I would like to believe it should be be up to parents to keep their children away from products meant for adults. But apparently its not their responsibility anymore.

While the product is said to contain "only" pure nicotine (which is unsafe), a recent FDA analysis indicates nicotine is not the only danger they present.

Who has made this claim???

The new "fake cigarettes" supposedly contain just liquid nicotine -- but a recent FDA report found nitrosamines in half the samples from the two leading brands tested.

Were these nitrosamines found in the liquid or the vapor, and at what levels vs. burning tobacco?

Dr. Marcus made it a point to say that "you should not get nitrosamines unless you burn something" and that "these things are not supposed to burn." Nitrosamines are the key carcinogens in tobacco. So the question is, if there is nothing burning in e-cigarettes, then where do the nitrosamines come from?

Dr Marcus, and I use the term DOCTOR very loosely, should look for another line of work, because quite frankly, this "Doctor" either got his doctorate in a box of Cracker Jack or got some "honorable degree" somewhere that means nothing.

Basically, this "Doctor" is talking out his ... with obviously no knowledge of the subject. This is the type of slime we have to wade into.

If I'm not mistaken, the nitrosamine discussion alone is questionable. Didn't FDA test for nitrosamines only in the standing ejuice, and not in the vapor? If memory serves, this statement about nitrosamines and burning is nonsense as it was never tested for after "burning", ie in vapor form. Lots of misinformation, on many levels, in just one sentence.

I wonder whos payroll this guy is on...
