I'm looking for some recommendations on a new rda. I want:

1) Single coil
2) Adjustable airflow
3) Airflow NOT set up for multiple coils only (I like single coils and a tight draw)
4) Relatively easy builds (no falling apart when screws are loosened, etc.)
5) Preferably threaded assembly vs. o-ring compression fit OR a good o-ring fit.

I'm currently running an IGO-L with a 28 gage micro/cotton setup around 1.5 Ohms. I use a Provari, so much lower resistance than this is not where I want to go (pretty much eliminates multiple coil builds with the 28 gage wire). The IGO-L is nice and holds together fine with the o-rings, I'm just ready to try something else out.

Some context: I recently purchased an Optimus RDA from SmokTech..it's a great idea but won't stay together in my pocket due to the ill-fitting o-ring assembly style. It's probably just a cheap atty (it was cheap).

Does such a thing exist?

The Yaeliq RDA. I have not tried one. It just came to mind after reading your post.
It is designed for dual coils but, this video shows a single coil build.

I think I have the same SmokTech RDA you mentioned. I will be using a Dremil to cut a slot, instead of the 5 tiny holes. I would also love to find a higher quality single coil RDA with adjustable airflow. One that can be a cloud chaser, with the airflow opened up, and great flavor producer, with the airflow tightened down. I would like to find one that is less than 18mm in diameter, so that it looks good on a ego battery.

I'm pretty new to RDAs, but hopefully I can help some. Been looking into several different ones and have watched many youtube videos on them! I currently have an IGO-W.
From what I've seen, all of the adjustable air flow RDAs have dual or more coil options, but, the airflow options allow for single coil setups.
The ones that caught my eye the most are the Atomic, the Crown, and the Trident V2. Rip Trippers has good videos on these, and I think he has single coils on at least one of these, if not all of them. I can't remember which, but one he preferred to use with a single micro coil. Worth a look.

If I remember correctly, the Crown has dual airflow only unless you block off one of the air holes. And all of the RDAs you mentioned use o-rings to hold the body on the base. OP is looking for RDAs that screw together. That limits the choices some.

I'll have to look again, but I thought the Crown did have a single option, maybe the newest version? Idk, my head is spinning over all the different RDAs!
And yes, they have O-rings, but my take is that the better models have a tighter fit, so they are worth checking out to solve the pocket issue OP reports. Heck, there's no way my IGO is coming apart in my pocket!!

Single coil RBAs (those with just 2 posts) that have adjustable airflow and a screw on cap?

I'd wager there isn't one. You might be able to get away with 2 of those 3 requirements, but even that is probably not going to happen. I don't know of any RDAs with a screw on cap, nor do I know of any single coil (2 post) RBAs with adjustable air flow.

Were I you, I'd go with an Igo-W and get a Halo cap by Cap it All who makes an aftermarket cap with adjustable airflow. Of course the cap is twice as much as the RBA itself and the Igo-W will do a single coil though it's designed for dual. The Cap It All Halo cap has adjustable air flow for dual coils.

With an Igo-W you won't need a screw cap. I have to fight with mine to remove it (I cannot remove it if it isn't attached to a battery or base). You might be able to contact Cap It All and see if he has any suggestions or would make you a custom cap.

Thanks for all of the replies, folks. I've got no real problem with the o-ring fit-up, it just needs to be a good one. Sounds like the IGO-W is worth a look. I'll also check into the others that you helpful people have mentioned. I clarified my request a bit above along these lines...

Thanks for the help and keep 'em coming!

I should have elaborated. The Igo-w has dual air holes, I only mentioned it to reference the tight O-ring. Might be better to check out the Igo-L as it only has one hole, but I would imagine has the same o-ring setup.

I am putting in a vote for the Halo/Igo-W. The stock configuration is dual hole, but I modified mine by expanding one of the top cap slots (NOT the sleeve) by 4.5 mm with my dremel, so now it can be set for single or dual hole/coil. I usually use an Igo-L deck and it is superb. The volume and shape of the cap really works well. It's much better than the stock Igo (which I have used and enjoyed for some time) so I call it the Halo-L. I also just received an EHPro Atomic, which meets your requirements for single or dual coil without modification, including screw together assembly. It works well at half the price of the Halo-l or -W setup. However, at least in my setup the Halo beats it handily.

It's also looking like the Atomic is nearly exactly what I was after. The Omega looks similar, but the build on that one looks like a pain due to the high cup on the bottom deck....

If I could decide between the Atomic and the Trident V2, I'd have one of them already!
Rip Trippers has a comparison video on these two. In the video he reports the Atomic is better for flavor at lower power levels, but the Trident catches up at higher wattages. I'm leaning towards the Trident V2 due to the screws on the posts, apparently they stay fastened better. But the Atomic seems to be a better fit for the ProVari due to the amp limit of the ProVari. All subjective of course, but the decision is still not an easy one! AHHHHHHHH!
