The flavours I have:
The alchemist cupboard - ethyl maltol
Capella - vanila custard, cool mint
Perfumers apprentice - dulce de leche
Decadent vapours - menthol, mentholyptus

This weekend I am going to be mixing them for the first time. I am thinking of a 60/40 pg/vg 10-12mg nic base.

I will be making 3-5ml testers.

Flavour percentages:
Cool mint - 5% 7% 9%
Menthol - 2% 4% 6%
Mentholyptus - 2% 4% 6%

I am not gonna be testing the other flavours yet.
Do these percentages sound about right? I want to get the taste of each flavour so I can see what I feel is right so I can mix some of the menthol with the cool mint at some stage. I dont think the mentholyptus will taste good mixed with something else so it will stay on its own.
What do you reckon?

Will the menthol not be a bit low at 1%? Or is that the best starting point?

Iyour in the testing phase of your formulation so You want a range of percentages to choose from and 1% is a good starting point for menthol. It's not to say 1% is where you'll wind up. It's a starting point.

Dunno about those, but 15% Capella Vanilla Custard mixed with 3% TPA Dulce du Leche is pretty yummy, you will want to breathe it for a few hours and steep it for a week or two though.

I'll second this mix. It makes a great vanilla custard. I dropped the DDL to 2% though.

Yes, my YMMV does indeed vary ...lol. I find that 10 - 15% Cap VC depending on other flavors works best. At first this flavor bothered me but after a day or so it stopped. I am starting to think that I vaped it too soon. Once it sat for a day or two it did not bother me. I'm not going to fret over some trace amounts of "custard notes" especially knowing how open to interpretation most tests are.

We're big fans of "whatever works for ya" when it comes to DIYing! We certainly don't want any one telling us what works for us - but we do wanna share it :)

Mixed up the mentholyptus. Eeew not what I was expecting at all!
Mixed up the cool mint at 4% and 6%. Didnt do much for me freshly mixed. Now it has steeped for a week or two the flavour of the mix at 6% has come through. Not too much tho so not overpowering.
Next to mix up is the menthol. Hoping if I get the strength right I will add it to the cool mint to combine them.
I made up the percentages with an 80/20 pg/vg ratio. Might try it at 70/30 on the menthol. Too much vg I cant inhale as it seems to heavy for me.
