My Posts doesn't work right either. If you click it does give you your posts but there's no order to it. You have to search for quite awhile because the post you made 3 hrs. earlier might be on page 25 and the first entry might be from 6 mo. ago. It needs to go last post first. but I like the rest of the change better than before, so far. :):)

"My Posts" is listed by threads, not posts. (yeah I know, the name is a bit misleading) So, if you have multiple posts in a thread, you'd still only see one entry for that thread under "My Posts." IOW, the 50 results you see means that you have posted a total of 140 posts in 50 different threads.

Thanks to all...from a relative newbie. I thought My Posts would show the actual posts.....but now I know differently...thanks!

Search is a little wonky.

If you are on the main index and click "Advanced Search" right under the search box, you go to the advanced search page. The only Additional Options that show are:
Find Posts (with drop downs for "any date" and "and newer") and
Sort Results by (with drop downs for "relevance" and "in descending order")

Under that is the option to save search preferences.

If you want more options you need to click on the "Search Multiple Content Type" tab and then click back to "Search Single Content Type." Then the list of forums, prefixes and show results as threads/posts become available.

It gets the job done for now so I'd say it shouldn't be a high priority while you're fixing more important glitches.

Maybe it was just a temporary glitch, or else it's something on your end, because that's not happening for me. Also, it sounds like you're saying that when you click on "Advanced Search" you are defaulting to the "Search Single Content" tab, which is weird because mine defaults to the "Multiple" tab. (and I'd prefer it the other way)

What browser and version of it are you using?

It's happened every time I went to Advanced Search from the home page. This time I wrote down what didn't show up, etc. so I could post it. (I got the choice of posts vs. threads when I used "search this forum" in a subforum.)

I'm on Firefox 3.6.9 (on a Mac)

In that "Save Search Preferences" box you referenced earlier try selecting "Clear Search Preferences" then click "Go" - that's the best hunch I can come up with.

Sounded like a great idea, voltaire. It didn't work.

Then I flipped between the two tabs, chose "posts" and saved those preferences. For an easy test I searched for the word "Chuck" posted by me. It found every visitor message in everybody's profile with the word "Chuck" in it. I don't think I wrote any of them.

I cleared them again, flipped back and forth, chose "posts" and picked "posts" in the options on top and saved them. Now it gives me every thread started by me.

Oh well. Like I said, I know how to work my way around it and make it search for what I want. I'll survive. :)

When signing on the facebook seems to still block where the username goes so have to act like placing a new thread to get the user name password screen to come up.I know its minor compared to others issues or how much work this switch over is .If I need to reset something send me in the right direction, thanks.

Kind of funny. The spellchecker doesn't know which forum it is on. It flags vaper, vaping, vape, ecig, as being misspelled. I'm sure there's more vaping lingo that needs to be added. All in due time.

Spell-check is built into your browser, not the website. If you want, you can add a word like "vaper" to your browser's dictionary by simply right-clicking on it when it gets underlined by the red squiggly lines, and selecting "Add to Dictionary" - then it will be recognized and no longer flagged as incorrect.

Could that small-print list of excluded forums that appears at the top of the Today's Posts results screen please go away eventually? For us small-screen (e.g., netbook) users it's nearly half a screenful of content. Perhaps a link or mouseover with that info instead?

This will be going away. However, it is a low priority. But, it will be gone eventually.
